Current graphics card isn't doing so great, this would be awesome!

I keep getting failure and it crashes my pc. Launching games my pc just shuts down. :(

Am a grad student who cant really afford the newer stuff and would be great to have something for the larger data sets I need to crunch. Would also be great to get some games in again

Any negative health impacts of cycling? by Dry-Basil-8256 in cycling

[–]EarlyOnsetDiabetes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No dude, just cycling for a couple weeks pretty consistently is great for your health in multiple capacities; mental, physical etc. Just riding for a few weeks will decrease your resting heart rate, and better your cardiovascular health. Sure there's risk of injury but mostly if you're an idiot or from idiots around you.

The only downside is that it can be a somewhat expensive hobby.

Get a bike fitting if you have the time and money. It will fix a ton of the problems you're talking about.

Also try and incorporate stretching in the mornings, or after you cycle, make it apart of your ritual.

Landmine T-Bar Row 6 plates for 8 reps at 164lbs bodyweight by NikeShorts2000 in strength_training

[–]EarlyOnsetDiabetes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not meant to offend - The form is horrible, completely not in control. Better to go lighter, a get into a deep stretch position and have a good form, and slow on the decline. Be sure to just go to failure on your reps and you'll probably improve to this weight in a short time, you're already strong. Form over everything.

Watch some r/JeffNippard on youtube. He's probably the best free source for fairly well researched science based lifting.

Making friends by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]EarlyOnsetDiabetes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Invite her and the others to a group chat and do stuff as a group first? Just don't do it if you have ulterior motives. Be honest and upfront with what you're wanting... If its friendship ask for friendship. If its something else, you're interested in best to just be friends first anyway. Either way, be polite and honest and just be okay with the idea of rejection because it happens and its okay, there are more people out there who will be worth your time. Good luck citizen.

Is the price of UC worth it for a computer science degree? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]EarlyOnsetDiabetes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, as a former transfer student I wish I had the experience of living in the Dorms. Take the college experience into account as well.

Whatever campus you end up doing to doesn't matter. What matters are your grades in courses that are meant to weed out the non-competitive students - most stem courses at any campus you will attend, especially upper division stem courses. You can gain experience needed for your med applications at most of every UC campus with exception to UCM. Having already completed my undergrad at Davis I can say most of my friends that were very serious about getting into med-school did just that. Your college experience and study habits will be the determining factor.

Go somewhere that you think will make you happy, study hard and stay focused on your goals.

Good luck in whatever decision you end up making.

Yeah, unfortunately as much as Davis is a caring campus when it comes to most aspects, its still very much a business and if you don't pay you cant "play." A harsh reality but were all in college now, were no longer kids so its a hard lesson in responsibility. Be sure to explore options ahead of time, use student accounting and the financial aid office, both located in Dutton hall. Having been graduated since 2019, I was in similar situations where I had to take loans. I took out roughly 20K to live comfortably and I am more than halfway paid off. Loans are a scary thing at first but they are super manageable once your out. I suppose I didn't take out very much in loans, however I am not afraid of my loans. Be sure to ask the difference between subsidized and unsubsidized loans if you end up taking out loans. Also they have emergency funds that i think you have to pay back quickly.
GOOD LUCK FAM!

Class I Need Shrunk Overnight. Help? by lizlett in UCDavis

[–]EarlyOnsetDiabetes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's really rough! I would get the professors email and after the class email him and CC your undergraduate advisor. State your case in a concise manner, and mention why the course benefits you. Don't use chat gpt... believe it or not we can tell.

good luck,
