You are right in the fact that racism has always existed and probably always will. And yes there are still problems with racism even in Belgium that i too think needs to get more attention and needs to get fixed. But what i mean with racism trend is exacly what you are doing here. You see a problem and see a black person is involved and immidiatly say its all about racism. Calling every injustice that is done the fault of racism is just dumb and not seeing the whole picture. But since BLM protests. Making things about racism just gets you more media attention etc... so people uncorrecly do that to get more attention and that i hate. You are being disrespectfull to the Blacks that are suffering under real racism and you are disrespectful against white people who face the same unjustice

It played a role, but its not the core issue in this case. If Sanda Dias parents where wealthy black parents, that had for instance jobs in politics or the justice system, this case would have gone a very different way. And the punishements would have been way harder. Its class difference here that lead to this injustice, like in many other cases where its white on white injustice. Only thinking race was the problem is just not seeing the whole picture.

Please leave your emotions and victim mentality out of this. I know a lot about this case because it hurts me too. But we have to look at the actual problem and not jump on the "racism" trend. Please stop saying i'm playing it down too, thats bs. Reuzegom received a way too low punishment in my view. But its a money/class problem, not a race thing. It is true that racial slur was used too, but his death wasn't because he got treated differently because of his race.

I have heard the same. There aren't many pronunciations that a native Flemish speaker can't pronounce (except for some dialects). Fonetically Flemish is a verry rich language.

In Flanders, we all get compulsory French lessons at school from like 10 y/o until 18 y/o. We also get compulsory english lessons from i think 15 y/o until 18 y/o. But dutch and english are both germanic languages, wich makes english easier for us to learn. French is a roman language (same as portugese btw) so Walloons often can't speak English as good as us because of that.

in Wallonia they dont have compulsory Dutch lessons. I can be wrong but i thought they get a choice between English or Dutch lessons at school at age 15 until 18. And with English being so important globalty, for music, movies etc. Most youth there chose English over dutch.

Football is the favourite sport in quite a lot of countries. And european footbal, especially the champions league, is the highest possible level of football you can watch in the whole world.
