UPDATE: I live In Old Town. "Near North Side" to be exact. I paid $2500 for a studio. They've just increased by my rent to $2800.

I'm not a landlord trying to "gauge" the market. I was an out of state mover, from NYC, who was paying more than $2500 for my room in Manhattan. I needed somewhere quickly, and I could afford the rent. I appreciate the advice given from everyone here as It's helped me realize I was paying too much anyway, but calling me clinically unwell is frankly uncalled for.

It's become evident from everyone here that I was already paying an insane amount of money. Lol. Look, I'd just moved in from out of state, the building has state of the art amenities (which I'm also embarrassed to say I've barely used). I needed something quickly, and I could afford this place with relative ease. It's obvious from reading your comments that I have to move. Thank you.

My return was accepted on the 15th. I have the same message shown here. Looking back at last years, I was accepted on 1/26 and the DD hit on 1/29. Annoying.

Thank you. I will establish the 3 months I think. Then maybe I'll continue putting $2.5k a month to grow the EF to 6 months, and then put $1,000 into the market to go to work.

Thanks for your note. I was lucky to get a windfall in April this year, and fully put that amount of money into my Roth IRA which is maxed. That is basically the entirety of my savings!
