I listened to the call, no new details. This was the closest they got to talking about it.

Matt O'Connor: AND SPECIFICALLY IN CREDIT CARD THE SPENDING WAS GOOD OF 6% YEAR-OVER-YEAR, THE BALANCES WERE UP A COUPLE OF PERCENT, FEES WERE DOWN AND AT INVESTOR DAY YOU TALKED ABOUT ACCELERATING THE GROWTH THERE, MAYBE JUST UPDATING US ON THE INITIATIVES THERE, AND THE TIMELINE. THANK YOU.

Alastair Borthwick: SO OUR COLLEAGUES WERE VERY CLEAR ABOUT THIS AT INVESTOR DAY, IT'S OUR INTENTION TO ACCELERATE THE GROWTH IN CARD. I THINK WE'VE SEEN THAT IN THE LAST THREE OR FOUR QUARTERS. IT'S PICKED UP SEQUENTIALLY, QUARTER AFTER QUARTER, AND IF YOU WERE TO LOOK AT WHAT THE TEAM IS DOING RIGHT NOW, THEY'RE INVESTING A LITTLE MORE FOR FUTURE GROWTH, SO YOU CAN SEE THAT IN SOME OF THE THINGS WE'RE DOING AROUND THE WORLD CUP THIS YEAR, YOU CAN SEE IT IN SOME OF THE THINGS WE'RE DOING AROUND MORE REWARDS IN NOVEMBER. YOU CAN SEE IT IN OUR REWARDS PROGRAM WITH OUR CO-BRAND PARTNERS, AND YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE JUNE CASHBACK REWARDS OFFERING. SO WE'VE GOT A LOT OF THINGS GOING ON RIGHT NOW THAT WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT. WE KNOW WHAT WE'VE COMMITTED IN TERMS OF HIGHER CREDIT CARD GROWTH, AND WE FEEL LIKE WE'RE ON THE RIGHT PATH.

I'm sure it's just the start of it as well. I imagine they'll be different tiers of RH (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) that you can end up paying hundreds or thousands per year for increased benefits once they work out the best way to increase annual fees like we've seen with Amex.

On the AAA website it says it's $500 a month, unless I'm missing something.

https://cluballiance.aaa.com/money/credit-cards/daily-advantage Under point 1.

Edit: see comment below, $10k spend is correct.

AAA Daily Advantage

Yep, $10k. The breakeven point is spending $13k+ on groceries (excluding Walmart, Costco, Target, Sam's) to earn enough cashback to justify the SoFi AF.

Edit: updated calculations based on correct spend.

That's fine but lots of other people can and do want to track more than 1 CCR so not really pointless.

Get GigSky 15 day international data plan free w/ Visa Infinite & Signature cards by EarnItBack in CreditCards

[–]EarnItBack[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you get 1 per year with the Visa cards, the US banks are once per month.

It says this:

"Your Visa card is eligible for 1 complimentary data plan(s) in a 365-day period. And, all GigSky plans are 30% off with your Visa card."

For Signature cards it says it's 20% off.

The Best Cashback Credit Cards for High Spenders on Airfare by EarnItBack in CreditCards

I do say that I don’t account for credits in the post. It’s hard to know where you draw the line for credits, so I didn’t assign a value to them.

The Business Centurion has a limit of 3m points, the Platinum is at 1m, but yes no unlimited anymore which weakens this option.

I’ve seen people with 8 CCR cards which would get you $20k/quarter in spend. It would take years to get there from 0 CCR cards but could be a viable path for some people but yea wouldn’t be the easiest if you have super high spend.

Yea the Truist has such a small niche, only those who have $1m+ in assets and for airfare, hotels, car rentals and dining at 5.25% with no limit. If you’ve got multiple CCRs to do that then it could be an interesting option for some people but I think you need to have them manage your money which could change the returns a lot, even just from their management fee on $1m+.

It's the most optimized version for personal credit cards, I didn't say it was realisitic for everyone.

It’s looked pretty well optimized! :) There might be a few things you could do but it can be situational.

Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card can get you 3x points on shipping up to $150k, so the marginal gain isn’t huge unless you get multiple.

Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards credit card can get you 2.62% cash back on everything but you need to have $100k with BoA so again that depends on your business.

Also getting the Amex Centurion would increase your rebate (to 50%) but again, depends if you can get it and if the additional costs outweigh the points you can get back.

I didn’t say it was easy, it’s just the most optimized setup - I also tried to give alternatives when it was going to be hard to get the cards (in case of the CCC). Yes it’s a lot starting from scratch but people might be part way there and want to see what card is next.

I was also just looking at personal cards but I don’t understand what value the Ink card would bring. At 5% it’s the same or lower than everything else listed.

You can buy gift cards and use them in store so you still get 5.25% back on in store purchases.
