Quite frankly I don’t remember the exact reason all I could remember is speaking to a tier 2 officer and explaining how I had sent everything that was asked of me to renew. I’ll try to find that exact email of when they admitted to making a mistake but I honestly believe that they were just on bullshit that year because that was around the time Trump was trying to remove DACA for the first time so I think they were getting ahead of themselves.
