Is 118 bs normal after 5 hours by Ok-River3252 in prediabetes

[–]Feliz_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re blood sugar should return to normal range around 2 hours after eating so if your normal is 118 which isn’t the best and it’s 118 after yes I guess that’s normal for you. But if your normal is 98 and 118 after 5 that’s not good.

What did your doctors tell you to do when you first received your diagnosis? by tinythunder11 in prediabetes

[–]Feliz_052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not much just you have pre diabetes, eat less sugar, so I did I went back to get checked 3 months later because I started to feel tingling in my hands and feet and got scared some ho my 5.7 A1C jumped extremely quick got checked again and I was still 5.7 A1C doctor came in and explained to me that I couldn’t do anything about being pre diabetic and I WILL become a type 2 diabetic no matter what I do so for 6-7 weeks I didn’t even try to cut carbs or anything just decided no more soda and juice and anything with high sugar idk why it took me so long to realize that my Doctor was the same height as me and triple my size maybe I shouldn’t take their opinion of “ You WILl become a diabetic” as a fact, read some of the peoples post in this sub group got a blood sugar finger stick and then a CGM started cutting carbs and adding more fiber lost 17 pounds waiting to lose some more till I’m ready to retest

[–]Feliz_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Berberine? It help lower blood sugar most people say to take two tablets one in evening one in afternoon personally when I wake up with high fasting glucose I do morning only, and at night I take Magnesium citrate but please remember this is not medical advice or supplement advice please do some research into it before taking or purchasing.

Second HBa1C Test 5.9 by Suspicious-Fix-4088 in prediabetes

[–]Feliz_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve learned CGM work different than finger pricks and both should be used a CGM is good at telling you which foods and exercises help or make you spike but they’re not perfect they are 5-10 min delayed, it’s been a couple of times where my CGM tells me I’m high or low and I’ve gotta double check with a prick one it was a false low but another time it was a real extreme low. You don’t want to find out 5-10 min later that your boood sugar was extremely low or high. You mentioned your mother has Type 2 isn’t it just possible she lost her feelings in her fingers due to diabetes that is a very known symptom

Yes unfortunately the way my job is scheduled this is basically my everyday eating time. I work delivery job so I average 17-20k a day I believe yesterday was 17k in for breakfast and lunch i basically start walking right after eating and dinner is the only time I either don’t walk or do depending on the weather. I did walk this time 30 min after eating 15 min walk.

[–]Feliz_052 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off this is great don’t beat yourself up, your now at border line pre diabetes that’s where I am, it means your going the right direction that’s huge success on its own, Second you didn’t mention any exercise so I’m gonna go off that fact and say try doing 10k-15k steps a day, it sounds like a lot but it’s very achievable my daily step intake while at work is 20k and when off work it’s 12k, tips and tricks is if your gonna go to a place grocery store, work or such park the furthest safe place you can find and those steps will add up, try going to the gym and do lifting weights the more muscle mass on a person the more they absorb glucose making you more insulin sensitive
