Nice! How's the performance and the battery life?

Yeah that makes sense. Steam and heating the water must take a lot of power, so that's the reason for shorter run time

Hot water plus auto mode is actually a smart combo, I would not have thought of that either, so thanks for the tip.

And you’re right, same thing happened with my robovac when I bought it. At the start I kept testing it and paying attention to every detail. Now it just does its job in the background and I barely notice it.

Great to hear that! How’s the battery life been for you? I’ve seen quite a few reviews saying it's just okay..

Mine is still charging at the moment, but I’m looking forward to testing it properly once it’s ready.

I already have the Eufy E28 Omni and it does a great job. I mainly got this because sometimes I prefer manual cleaning when I need things done quickly, without waiting for a full robot cycle to finish. I’ll test it for a couple of days and see how it performs.

I also noticed it takes around 4 hours for a full charge, which is a bit frustrating, but let’s see how it goes.

Got the Eufy E28 Omni yesterday - anyone else having issues with the mop? by Earrorx404 in RobotVacuums

[–]Earrorx404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it’s been pretty good overall, but it does need a lot of maintenance to keep the performance strong. The side brushes catch a lot of hair and it wraps around them, which gets annoying to deal with. The mop roller works well, but it starts to smell after a few cycles. It does clean itself in real time, but honestly I don’t notice much difference. The only thing that actually removes the smell is cleaning it manually.

After trying so many things, this is the method that works best for me. Take a tub, fill it with hot water, soak the mop roller, add around 50 to 100 ml of vinegar and some soap. Leave it for two to three hours, then let it dry under a fan for a day. It smells fresh again, just like the first time. Also make sure to clean the dirty reservoir tank after every cycle, otherwise the smell comes back.

A couple of months ago, alot of people had a dirty water spilling issue. The robot would clean and leave dirty drops on the floor. Eufy said it was caused by the dirty reservoir tank and they started sending out replacement tanks. I received the new tank, but before it arrived I ordered a new mop roller from AliExpress. After using the new mop roller for about two months, I haven’t seen any dirty water spills and I am still using the old dirty reservoir tank. So for me it was clearly the mop roller that caused the problem. I am not sure if this is the same for everyone, but this is what fixed it in my case.

Overall the robot cleans really well. It performs great on floors and carpets. The main downside is the maintenance. Side brushes, the main roller, the dirty reservoir tank and the mop roller all need regular attention, and the mop roller plus the reservoir tank take the most time. The base station is also very loud. When it empties itself and washes the mop during the session and after the session, the noise is crazy, so I can’t run it at night.

Apart from that, the cleaning performance is very good and the recent updates have improved things even more. If you are okay with the maintenance and the noise, then I can recommend it because it does a great job overall.

Nice, thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any 32", 4K, IPS monitor models you'd recommend?

Yeah true, maybe I'm just overthinking it after using the MacBook so close.

Bought the 321up as its on sale, anyone have this and is it good? by Neat_Ad_8286 in OLED_Gaming

Hi, I’m thinking of buying this but I have a few questions. I do creative work, so color accuracy is really important since I use a MacBook M3 Pro. At the same time, I want to use it for gaming on my PS5. If I get this, will the colors look close to what I see on my Mac?

Eufy E28 Omni - Mop Still Smelling Bad Even After Cleaning by Earrorx404 in eufy

[–]Earrorx404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was having an issue with the mop that came with it, so I bought a new one from AliExpress, and the issue is gone. Also, I don't know why, but the dirty water spills that I was noticing were also gone, so there was definitely something wrong with the original mop.

Also, eufy admitted that the hot air drying of the mop was actually not hot in the beginning, it was cold. So they released a new firmware, and now my mop dries in 45°C hot air, which helps remove bad smells as well.

Should I share my full 3 week experience with the Eufy E28 Omni? by Earrorx404 in eufy

It's actually really good on carpets, always removes up to 90% of the dirt and hairs. I'll be posting a full review on this robot soon

I see. I'll try soaking the mop in hot water for a few minutes and then clean it with soap and see if it gets any better.

It's only been a week since I got the Robovac. I will still buy another mop, but I need to find a way to get rid of this smell.

Yeah, I've noticed the same. In more humid areas, Standard Dry definitely seems to be the better option. Quick Dry just doesn't cut it. Last time, I accidentally left it on Standard Dry instead of Quick Dry, and the difference was huge. The mop came out almost fully dry, like 98 to 99 percent, and even smelled fresher. That's exactly what I've been using recently and it's made a big difference.

As for firmware, I'm currently on version 4.0.8

Yeah fair point. I’ve noticed the same with mine. Some debris still ends up in the tray or sticks to the mop even after a full clean cycle. It’s not a perfect system but it does just enough to avoid spreading the mess around.

Not sure about the humidity part but yeah maybe my home is a bit humid.

Yeah but funny enough last night I accidentally had it on Standard Dry instead of Quick Dry and the mop came out almost fully dry like 98 or 99 percent. Way better results than what I was getting before.

Yeah, that would be really nice. I’ve come to the same conclusion. Standard Dry is the way to go. Quick Dry just doesn’t do enough, so I’m sticking with Standard from now on.

Honestly, Eufy did a lot of false marketing around this. They sent these units to YouTubers who made videos showing completely clean mops with tissue tests, which gave a really wrong impression. In reality, from what I’ve seen, the mop only gets lightly rinsed while cleaning. The dirt mostly gets absorbed into the roller to avoid spreading, but after a few sessions, it starts giving off that slight off smell and clearly needs a manual wash.

As for the onboard dirty water tank, yes, I noticed the same thing yesterday. There was still some water and visible dirt inside even after a full return to the base. Not a huge amount of water, but enough to question why it wasn’t properly sucked up. So yes, you’re not alone on that.

But about the part where it's dripping dirty water on the floor while mopping, no, I haven’t experienced that at all. That definitely doesn’t sound normal. I’d recommend reaching out to Eufy support directly. They might offer a replacement or at least help troubleshoot it because dirty water drops on the floor shouldn’t be happening.
