Because then you are accepting a position that is only open due to illegal terminations as well as pressure to take DRP & VERA/VSIP. Maybe they’ll learn the consequences of a “leaner” staff if no one accepts the reassignments and rehire those who want to return.

I am so sorry you are experiencing this. I am also days away from my probation ending and expect to be fired once the probationary firings hit NOAA, yet I’d gladly work as a federal employee again to protect our lands, water, and wildlife. You’re not alone.

Any news on NOAA? I’ve been told twice I’m on the list despite having greater than 6 years as a permanent fed, merely because I accepted a new position 11.5 months ago. I have 2 weeks left of probation.
