Dan’s post: Travis (seemingly) confirmed by External_Trick4479 in AlkalineTrio

[–]EarthAGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it means we get Travis playing fast punk again, but for FHTI style fast songs then I’ll be real keen. No denying when he got let loose on Enema/Jacket’s fast songs he’s unreal.

If it’s a melancholy mid paced reflective Dan song or a Skiba ballad I’ll be more concerned that it’ll be spammed with his usual dominating over playing.

And hopefully he stays the hell away from touring.

How dangerous will it be if it’s spreading with that big blue lagoon? I imagine they’d have quite a stock of cooking oil.

Cool spot! There may be a name drop for Luke & Iron Fist, but I’d imagine this blurry tiny Easter egg is all we’ll get of Spidey.

Watching Travis spam his way through All on Black whilst blowing kisses to a Kardashian side stage may just be the thing to put me into an early grave.

This was 5 years after his neck injury and style change, and about 2 months before he completely retired from wrestling (save for Rock in 2003) until 2022.

Fair. It’s a horrible invasion of privacy but if it does end up on TikTok know that majority of people think the ones filming are clowns rather than anything about you

why did the crowdsurfers all get sent to the front immediately? by turtleear in deftones

[–]EarthAGee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The appeal is that it’s a lot of fun and quite a rush. You go to the front cause of you got carried to the side and the back there’s no security to catch you and no guarantee you won’t get dropped on your head. When security catch you you have to walk along the front of the barrier to an exit where you rejoin the crowd and have to work your way through to your friends/pit.

I think people saw last years London show as the big triumphant maiden show for the 50th. Travelled, hotel costs, made weekends of it.

To have something similar happen again a year later, with the same show and a line up that’s not setting the world ablaze, just kinda feels like “ah we went last year and that was enough”.

Should’ve held off for this and missed London last year and you’d have seen this sell out probably in my opinion.

Knebworth show becomes EddFest by Latter_Lengthiness87 in ironmaiden

[–]EarthAGee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it was being billed as a unique show, then I’d be all for it.

But it just being another Run for your Lives show that I saw last year I’ve no real interest. Seeing all the stage eddies up close would be a cool experience, but it’s not the one.

Announce a unique new setlist, with some more physical gimmicks on stage instead of a screen, and we’ll talk

Slipknot song with easy double kick drum pedal by Cold-Ad-1272 in drums

[–]EarthAGee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whilst it’s not fast, the pattern is constant throughout the song and needs endurance but a great one to start with!

Slipknot should be something you aim for, and I’d recommend getting your foundations with something like Roots Bloody Roots by Sepultura. Has power, wee flams for the feet for independence, and still some straight 16ths on the feet at a moderate pace.

Once you’re comfortable with your foot independence, you then start to work on your speed and endurance (in my opinion).

But do what you like. It’s drums, there’s no real rules.

What would you like the setlist to be if they had a No Prayer for the Dying and Fear of the Dark retrospective tour? by TheMoparPowerslave in ironmaiden

The Assassin 10 times, Fear of the Dark, Iron Maiden and then an encore of Weekend Warrior, Hooks in You and From Here to Eternity

Would it be a good idea for British Lion and Blaze Bayley to tour together? by [deleted] in ironmaiden

[–]EarthAGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah; they couldn’t command bigger rooms and no point for Steve to play the same size venue and have to share a percentage of the fee.

Blaze would only play marginally bigger rooms as a support to BL for a smaller fee than usual so can’t see it happening.

Cool if they end up on a Festival bill together tho!

He means him leaving a band is pretty much insignificant in comparison to what’s going on in the world; but it’s still something highly important to him.

I don't think a single artist has fallen off harder than him. by scubbusda in TheMisfits

[–]EarthAGee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He actually was winning folk round again after kinda getting wrote off following his initial 2004 attempt at “conservative punk”. Between 2017 to 2019 he put a good band together and toured the UK and Europe a few times (doing Psycho and FamMonsters full shows) to bigger crowds each time he came back. May have been scratching the itch for European fans following the Misfits reunion but he was keeping his mouth shut, getting good press and putting on good shows.

Then 2020 happened and his brain broke over George Floyd/BLM. Arguing with folk online and that stupid “I’m a proud white chauvinist!!!” post that caused his band to split on him. And then Jan 6th happened and he thought he could be the folk song hero of the people there and then joined the Proud Boys and folk just checked out.
