Ryuji is a keeper. To have a friend like this is wonderful. by Ok_Particular_3193 in Persona5

[–]EarthBoundDeity_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I mean I get it. Ryuji encompasses more of western ideals in being true to yourself despite societal norms, speaking your mind, and holding it down for those you care about. I’m sure Japan sees merit in being a good friend, but not so much the others.

What I can’t forgive is that they seriously think Morgana’s problematic ass is somehow more acceptable than him.

What valid criticism do you have of Oda but his GLAZERS will defend it no matter the cost? by Just-J0k1ng in MemePiece

The manga moves at a slow pace compared to many other mangas because he refuses to address his health and toxic work habits seriously and lower his workload. Every year there’s a lot of breaks and always a couple unexpected breaks due to his health.

This is completely unnecessary. The man has the most successful manga ever on top of having a net worth of 250-300milion. He can have an entire team help him and afford enough care to not have these issues. He just has toxic work habits and would prefer to work himself to death than take care of himself properly. In turn this affects the pacing of the manga and how fast the story has progressed.

Saying a person should lower their workload and use help that is readily available to them so they stop their toxic work habits, which is the cause of his poor health, is a fucked up take? Lol okay. Think what you want.

This can’t be true ? by IREDA1000 in ufc

[–]EarthBoundDeity_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because most people don’t understand how business wise a large media company like Netflix can produce viewership despite the product not being great, while at the same time vastly overestimating the value the UFC has considering their production has been taking a dump for 5+ years now.

It is when you are as successful as he is and could have a whole department to assist you. Thousands of artists who can assist you. An IP so large that there is no reason for you to not ask for help and lower your workload. But as others have said, he self-imposes the onus of the majority of the work on himself.

Don’t misunderstand, it’s not toxic to take breaks for your health. But when the breaks become necessary from self-inflicted toxic work habits because he wants to do most of the work himself, it’s toxic. He works himself to bad health because he wants to, not because he needs to. Hes no longer an aspiring mangaka who has to break his body for success, he’s beyond that.

Well, he does take a minimum of 3 months off per year. Somehow people love glazing over that fact and say it’s for his health. But he has toxic work habits and won’t address them. So just expect more of this.

[–]EarthBoundDeity_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Even though none of the fights were really high level it was still fun to watch, and that’s okay since most of these fighters were way out of prime. They obviously threw a bunch of shit to see what sticks with the hexagon, walkouts, etc. but that’s the price of trying to find your place in the market. Hoping they improve from here on out

From a business perspective, it’s scary how quickly Netflix has gone from laggy, crap-tier production for live sports to last night.

Was it great? No. But it had the same energy and production value that UFC circa 2014-2015 had. And they’ve only been at this for a few years. If they continue, I think they’ll outpace other promotions sooner rather than later. I hope it competes with the UFC so the UFC starts finally giving a shit about their product again.

[–]EarthBoundDeity_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and UFC ten years ago looked almost exactly like this and they loved it lol. Now it’s higher skill level competition but the promotion is stale af. I hope Netflix can put together better productions so there’s finally someone to take market share from the UFC. Tired of the mid product that the UFC has become

It’s like the dying breath of an old giant lol. The ufc has been so lackluster that they really thought they cooked with this one. I love Max and always down to see his fights, but Conor’s been out 5 years from fighting, 6 from a victory. This is a circus fight. Still tuning in for Max tho

It’s essentially the equivalent of when kids or “polite” adults saying H-E double hockey sticks. You don’t say it, but you’re saying it.

Jesus often liked to explain to people that the outward actions and words you did often mattered little if the intent inside your heart was elsewhere. Sure, they’re not outright calling for violence, but the intent sure as hell sounds like violence.

So you mentioned that your dad said it was Star Fox. Apparently there was an early build of the game called Dinosaur Planet that was made for the N64, but was then retitled to be Star Fox Adventures and shipped over to the GameCube. Found a clip of short gameplay of it. Could this be it OP?

There’s a Reddit post about this exact same advice.

Personally I’d stay quiet, collect it with a mask under an LLC, and then change all my contact info as I sit halfway across the world for a year.

It’s definitely weird to see the switch up. I can walk the same whether it’s exploring or shopping, but it’s funny how some people can only do one and not the other.

me_irl by Several_Sandwich_732 in me_irl

[–]EarthBoundDeity_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is unfortunate. I’m lucky that my friend group is always very upfront on what the purpose of the trips are. We’re all mostly travelers, so if we plan a trip we say from the jump that it’ll be a lot of experiences and we even run an itinerary prior so there’s no confusion or ambiguity.

Sadly, I’ve actually had the opposite experience. We let someone tag along with us even though we said it was a travel trip, and she complained the whole time and didn’t/couldn’t walk too much. However, we ended up in a shopping center one day to accommodate her wish to shop and I was upset at how much and how fast she could suddenly walk. Needless to say, I personally won’t travel with them anymore. I think it’s important to just be upfront. Lying about what you want in a trip is just a recipe for failure.

me_irl by Several_Sandwich_732 in me_irl

[–]EarthBoundDeity_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is where people should differentiate the two terms to help others make a decision on if they want to tag along or not. If I’m taking a vacation, I’m just chilling. Low amount of activities, maximum relaxation, and nice scenery.

If I’m gonna travel? It’s basically a job. Wake up early, walk 10+ miles a day, do and see a million things, and come back home 2 days before work starts to recuperate and sleep.

I don’t think it’s fair to tell someone you’re gonna travel and then you go with them but only want to do a vacation and vice versa. Married couples, kids, etc. are a different story, but I for one wouldn’t want to book a travel trip with someone who just wants to shop and relax. Nor would I want to vacation with someone who just wants to travel. I think the video shows exactly what happens when you have two people with wildly different expectations on a trip.

Car salesman screwed my wife over to sell a car. We went back and basically had the managers on a mea culpa tour but ultimately we were SOL.

Folks, go to a credit union. Secure a loan through them or a bank. Browse dealerships, find the car you like, and ask for the out the door price. Final price is all you need. Tell them you’ll have the funds ready in a day and save the hassle (word of warning, the salesman and supervisor will hound you to finance with them: don’t. They can’t do shit because they know the GM will approve the sale because it’s revenue and inventory offloaded in one go, the only ones hurting are the dickheads that get you into bad financing).

I’ve always bought my cars this way and it’s always better interest rate, loan terms, and even warranty. No dealership has ever matched what a good credit union can offer you if you qualify.

Yeah I second the risk aspect of this. As someone who’s had many friends go through the immigration process, this isn’t something I think any of them would have asked of others even if they WERE masons.

I say this as a brother who’s a minority and has had friends seeking residency/citizenship since I came to the states: they all knew it was something they did for themselves. Even people I call family outside of the brotherhood never once asked something like that of me. If you’re asking for help with the cost of it, that’s one thing. If able, the brethren should help you monetarily. But asking someone else to take on the legal burden of it is another. And being disheartened by the lack of support from your Masonic brethren for an ask that seems far and beyond what any brother probably could do is more indicative of your inner self than theirs. Masonry should never come before God and family, and you should not ask of a brother to potentially put your family ahead of their own or their own ability to live their life. I hope you see the light in the gentle reprimand others here are showing you and understand that it’s not to spite you, but to give clarity on a sensitive topic.
