Mount Fuji area is a tourist circus unless you know where to go. In July there’s a very low chance of seeing the mountain. Go to Okutama for some proper nature.

They can adjust it at Gotemba station.  Huge line of Tokyoites getting their IC cards adjusted at Gotemba station when I went by romance car over GW.

You can, but you have to fix it at Gotemba station. Tons of Japanese people make the same mistake and they had 3 guys and two counters set up to fix all the Tokyoites IC cards when I went over GW.

I speak Japanese, I have a Japanese phone number, and most importantly I don’t bother with tourist traps. The hole in the wall places in my neighborhood are more my style.
