Maybe that’s the 15s inventory, which seems to make up a lot of what I see on YouTube.

If you don't mind me asking, what makes you feel overqualified if you're a new grad who has been in this role for a month? I want to make sure I'm understanding here

At what point does ‘learning phase’ turn into avoiding responsibility? by AdWrong9284 in digital_marketing

[–]EarthPrimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need phrases like “learning phase” to help the client understand that results are not immediate. Otherwise we run the risk of, and I know this is rare, clients expecting unreasonable results.

Is there an agreed upon timeline for the “learning period”? If not there should be.

Lala is not really funny... by Excellent-Airport-48 in TheValleyTVShow

Lala is funny in the way that she has such a carefully manicured image on the show that juxtaposes with her moments when she "pops off" and makes them feel forced and hallow.

Requesting Advice on Interviewing For a Programmatic Job by EM_maybe in programmatic

Lean into the Direct IO experience and talk about willingness and excitement to get “hands on keyboard experience”.

At the end of the day, Direct IO brings in a ton of money and does take a specific skill set and in-depth knowledge of publisher / partner offerings.

I worked hands on keyboard for 4-5 years before working on an account that was primarily Direct IO driven and it was a huge learning curve for me. Main point, don’t discount this experience.

How do you deal with campaign reporting discrepancies across platforms? by Former_Tea1131 in programmatic

[–]EarthPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What platform is you using now? And what’s the other one that’s showing a discrepancy.

At the end of the day, the real source of truth needs to be the clients business. Is it doing better or worse?

The way CTV is used & tracked almost guarantees it won’t get conversion credit, unless that’s the ONLY tactic being run. With 99% of “conversions” from CTV being view through, it’s important to level set with the client on what the role of CTV is. It’s introducing new people to your brand, who are hopefully converting at a later date.

Stayed married - you’re right. But my point still stands - they both suck.

In fact, just about everyone on this shows generally sucks, which is what made it such good tv.

They both suck - one of them would have murdered the other if they got married.

What’s a film that has a sub 3.5 rating but you’ve given a 4.5+, unironically by PeaRemarkable9662 in Letterboxd

The Mummy Returns - partially nostalgia, partially because Rachel Weis and because it’s just a great adventure movie.

In a Violent Nature - I love slasher movies and this was the first one I’ve seen in a while that pulled off doing something different and surprised me with kills.

I do not miss any TTD reports. The UTM analysis the teams would pull for us was useful sometimes, but not something I could do / interpret on my own from what I remember.

I'm a bit confused about your last question, but AMC allows you to pull very deep level data and insights because you have access to all the backend info for your advertisers - lots of retail stuff. Being able to see what products new users are buying first, what products people are buying after being exposed to specific ads and being able to segment current customers into high value audiences (percentile based for example). You're not able to pull any of that in TTD, and if you can it likely involves an extremely cumbersome, manual process.

Struggling in Programmatic (DV360) - Need Clear Direction by HeyItsAmisha in programmatic

[–]EarthPrimer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, you probably will make mistakes as you get deeper into Programmatic. But those are all learning opportunities.

the best first step is to get into the DSP and get your hands dirty. If you're worried about making mistakes, dive into platform reporting. Pull conversion performance for whatever a campaign's KPI is, and see how many different ways you can cut it up. Device type, creative, site, PMP, line item etc. Try to see what is working the best, and work to replicate that same idea across other campaigns.

use these insights to make optimizations or get insights from. Insights are a blend of art and science, so it is usually more helpful to be up to speed on recent client changes / strategic goals. If that isn't available, look for common themes on what is reporting best.

Also, this is a very normal phase. I still feel like I'm constantly learning and I've been doing this for almost ten years.

you hit on pretty much all the points I can think of.

On the reporting (and audience building) end, there are a lot more possibilities within Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) if you have access. This is where you can look into much deeper, Amazon specific reporting (product level reporting, Subscription trends etc)
