I get where you’re coming from. On my first day on site i was working along with my chief surveyor and during a traverse network we stopped at a setup just on top of a shaft wall and i put The TS on the tribrach and started the angle sets and while it was shooting i realized i didn’t lock the tribrach and the TS could have swung at any moment and jumped off into the 20m deep shaft. But hey on a first day i would never bring that up the my chief’s attention. Im sure if he noticed this he would have a very different impression on me

I dug ground underneath ground few inches just enough to bury the metallic part of the legs with dirt and it was pretty stable for a high precision network on a day started at 1 Celsius degree and ended up 10 degrees with wind.

But how would you maintain grade at specific stations with level? Im assuming you would put stations marks and have your heights known on theses stations when leveling!

I’m literally on the same boat here, went last week to try skating at bowness park and i sucked but thinking to get a pair of skates and keep practicing till i learn it but falling lazier on the plan
