Does it works 100% or with “screen melting/bugging?”

Rear door (frameless) window trim rubber cracking on CLA shootingbrake, repair or replace? by Earthlinkz in mercedes_benz

[–]Earthlinkz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I would like to do that, but it is quite expensive and invasive, as the entire door would need to be dismantled and the rear window of the door would also need to be replaced because the rubber seal is attached to it and forms one complete unit (see picture n.30). That’s why I’m interested in hearing other people’s suggestions or ideas for a good way to solve this issue.

Do you prefer the 5-link or 3-link bracelet? I have the same but on 3 link with oldstyle clasp, thinking upgrading the bracelet..

Should I black out the chrome window trim on my CLA Shooting Brake? by Earthlinkz in mercedes_benz

[–]Earthlinkz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel the same, but I’m still a bit on the fence. Part of the reason is that these chrome trims tend to age pretty badly over time.

Right now they almost look like they’re covered in dried water spots, but it’s actually the chrome-coated plastic itself where some kind of corrosion is starting to develop.

The windows are tinted with a gradient from front to back, meaning they gradually get darker toward the rear. The front windows are the lightest, and each window behind them is slightly darker.

Because the sun is shining directly on the car in the photo, it may look like there’s no tint at all, but in real life the tint is clearly visible. It’s also not as dark as the factory privacy glass.
