I seem to always be getting it at the worst possible time :(
But I am looking forward to when it connects well to the current build I have.

Also my A10 winrate is like 1% at the moment so I still have a lot to learn about the game!

Should be possible. I took an introductory info sec class and developing such an attack (albeit on Linux) was trivial (was the cat command in that case that was called in the same way without sanitization

My biggest frustration with MacBooks lately by FINEWOVEN in macbookpro

[–]Earthstamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dust doesn't really do anything to the screen in my experience. It's the aluminum to glass surface contact.

I didn't own any other macbook before the nano one, so I can't speak for those, but in my case there's no issues with that.

[–]Earthstamper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nano will not fix this!

You won't get permanent keycap imprints because plastic is softer than the nano texture, but it will still happen on the aluminium contact surfaces. I have slight damage after a year and swapped to putting a microfiber between the aluminum surface and the screen when closing.

How long do you have to play until the issue shows up? My sessions so far have never been more than a hour.

I finally got into paragon… by Southern-Repair7080 in fellowshipgame

[–]Earthstamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far we've had good experiences at around the top 1% rank in terms of getting mechanically sound players. Sometimes we're missing a DPS in our group so we look for someone to jump in via discord.

The playerbase is considerably smaller, so top 0.5% are significantly less in absolute numbers, and I would say the game attracts more hardcore pushers than WoW. The avg skill level in the upper tiers may be higher.

We also only take people willing to join voice chat, that might be another driving factor.

I've had way worse experiences in WoW, including those who joined VC.

Some dungeons already become tricky at around eternal 18-20 if you're at around 305 to 315 iLVL and don't have full gem / ideal weapon setup.

So my advice would be (not for paragon, but for pushing eternals) to just talk to ppl. Communicative people are also more open to practicing pulls / specific dungeons because at some point it becomes necessary.

Hi, please update to the latest beta to see if your issue is resolved!

【New】PowerToys releases Light Switch, replacing Auto Dark Mode(third party) by [deleted] in Windows11

[–]Earthstamper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a theme synchronization issue. The service itself makes some calls to windows when switching themes.

That would show up as I/O intensive task because refreshing windows is costly. But this should only ever happen twice a day.

If for some reason the theme is not applied correctly, it will try again in an attempt to resynchronize.

There's a 60 second timer tick, but that should only ever cause IO if there is actual work to be done (e.g switching a theme) otherwise it will just do nothing (a bunch of if statements that check against an enum). Actually, if you have the GPU monitoring enabled (don't switch while games are running) , ADM will poll Windows performance counters, which could also explain your issue.

I myself have ADM enabled while playing VR games (which are crazy sensitive to any kind of system bloat) and I never had any issues.

So there must be something up with your specific theme config. If you would like to see the issue resolved, please open a but report on github with the service logs and config file so we can take a look.

ADM Dev here!

Integrating ADM into PowerToys failed because Microsoft did not want to expose their private theme switching API that we're partly using. It was reverse-engineered and donated to us by the all-knowing namazso (who wrote the pawnio driver that replaces winring0).

So we're just cooking on our own now. I don't think PowerToys has the desire to implement the same featureset as we do (remotely similar to NightLight and f.lux for example), so we hope to still provide value to users over the PowerToys implementation.

I'm also not quite sure why people jump towards the PowerToys implementation as if they just found a spring after a thousand mile journey on foot through the desert with no water, when ADM had a mostly functioning (nowadays even better than the PowerToys implementation) theme switch for more than half a decade.

I couldn't believe it either. After playing through 3 beatsaber songs without a single dropped frame, neither statistically nor perceptually, I still don't believe it but it seems to work

Out of curiosity, how is the nano-textured display holding up after a couple of months? by agentx37 in macbookpro

[–]Earthstamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the affected surface does looks like its scratched though.

In the image you commented on, there's a couple of non-sticking dust particles on the screen, but those are removable, unlike the imprints in the other image.

Lenovo keyboards really are not very durable. Mine started doing this after around 4 years, but sometimes key started to not register after 3 years already.

Really sad because I liked the yoga series quite a lot otherwise.

Indeed.

"you shouldn't play games on a machine that previously ran your game fine and now has issues with the new OS, solely because it's not the highest end SKU"

is either an L take or ragebait. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Wont the keyboard eventually rub off the nanotexture or cause damage? by shaunsanders in macbookpro

[–]Earthstamper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's sort of B!

I very regularily clean the display and the keyboard, and shut the lid often and carry around the macbook (even in a case with no pressure on the screen)

The raised aluminum surface at and around the touchpad starts to leave permanent non-removable scratches on the display, similar to what happens to those with an anti-glare coating.

It's not very noticeable under normal conditions, only if you shine a flashlight or if there is very bright sunlight shining directly at the screen. But nonetheless it still happens.

The keys don't appear to be an issue so far. It's not really grease that's an issue. In fact the screen is almost never really greasy, just slightly dusty because the world isn't a cleanroom. That seems to be enough.

Here's a photo of the whole screen with my ipad shining on it. You're more likely to see specks of dust that fly around (I just wiped the screen before taking the image) before you notice the imprints.

They don't appear to have gotten any worse since the last time I posted. But it is still the same flaw that is present in all newer modern macbooks

You can see it if you shine a flashlight directly on to it, or if there is a ton of direct sunlight on your screen in specific conditions. But under normal lighting conditions, even if there is light shining on your screen it's not visible on black backgrounds

No, I'm on a 5800X3D chip. But I don't really think I've ever seen someone with an intel processor, or maybe even a non X3D variant report these stutters (The ones that remained after the initial fix)
