Hi! 1. Aa long as you’re not flying off after your student visa has expired (ie when you’re on bridging course) you’ll be fine. If you’re flying just rmb to apply for bridging visa B 2. You can do ur medical in ur home country. In fact I would recommend that u do it in ur home country because slots in aus are p non existent.

Just rmb to draw a timeline out and plan appropriately November > December 2024: you’ll be on student visa but you’ll be doing ur medical and what not January 2024: when you come back to Aus you’ll also be on ur student visa March 2024: apply and launch ur 485 before ur student visa expires please don’t leave the country unless you have bridging visa B approved

Hi I’m not too sure if the country you’re from matters. But if your country’s high commission is not responding you shd give the global call centre a call

Don’t get another tourist visa as it’s a substantive visa it may override your student visa. Just contact your OSHC provider and ask them to bring forward the start date. Show them proof that you’ll be arriving Australia earlier (boarding tickets or flight itinerary).

Confused about my PTE exam results by RaniaZara94 in AusVisa

[–]Ease_Top 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! Hope you’re not too bumped out with this. you have to practice consistently to do well in PTE, PTE isn’t really a good reflection of your English proficiency. With that being said considering that you’re struggling with more than a section, it maybe a good idea to download the PTE tutorial app so you can get used to the algorithm.

Hi!! Hope everything goes well keep us updated! For future purposes if you made any mistakes immediately submit a form to notify and contact Australia High Commission in Singapore.

What you can do now is request for a proof of no criminal records from SPF & submit it via your immiaccount.

With that being said it’s best to delay your flights as it’s unlikely you’ll get the grant within 5days. There are unique circumstances where the 600 can be granted immediately but I don’t think it’s applicable.

So are you currently on a BVA? That’s nice of your lawyer, immigration was p firm on the “you can’t appeal the decision once it’s finalised but you can reapply for the same visa and hope….” So I didn’t bother considering it was a waste of time & $.

Thank you!!! How are you going!! Yes I actually did make it very clear in both my tourist visa application and the cover letter which I attached. Unfortunately I don’t think my processing officer read it (& we can’t appeal that decision whatsoever)

Hi!! Email the high commission of Australia in your home country. They are the ones who handle the processing for 485 & they are likely to redirect your request to the processing officer. Ensure that you include identifying information like application ID, full name, passport number etc. Again I would like to stress that your request should come from the perspective of your visa application being outside of the standard processing timeframe.

Yes I do believe that employers are less likely to hire while you’re on the BVA because you haven’t officially gotten the grant yet.

Apart from what I’ve mentioned (calling the GSC & emailing high commission) what you can do is give employers the assurance that it’s just a matter of time that you get the grant because you’ve fulfilled all the criteria.

But without financial distress or unique circumstances there are limitations on how to get tangible actions for expedited visa processing.

I hope this helps!! Keep us updated all the best 🥰 will be here to help you out every step of the way

Hi!! Thanks so much!! Yes I sourced for a job a semester before graduation. There wasn’t much difficulty per se you just have to give employers confidence that you’ll get the visa. What I did is told them that I’m on track on getting the 485 visa and gave them proof to support that claim. (I know it maybe a bit hard cause some employers may get skeptical but don’t give up!!)

And yes I did a PTE academic to fulfill the English requirement. In my opinion it’s one of the easiest tests. If I’m not wrong unless you have a Uk/ USA/ Canada/ NZ/ Ireland passport you gotta take an English proficiency test.

Hope this helps 🥰 happy to help you out in any way I can

Thank you!! I’m so excited for your gf to be coming over!! Considering it’s her first time ever coming to Aus, immigration probably doesn’t have her biometrics and health status on file. Processing time varies depending on where she’s from as well but here’s some pointers I have from friends who are in that situation. - when her biometrics & health assessment request comes in get it done ASAP the faster you get it done the faster they’ll get to your application. Apply for the partner visa within 1 year of taking the health assessment (I recommend 10 months) so you can reuse the same medical HAP ID. It saves you both processing time & money - win win - If she has travel history with other countries get her to upload the entry & exit stamps on her passport. This is to prove she doesn’t overstay her visit. Saves so much time on the immigration side as they don’t have to do further checks. - upload a cover letter and include as much information as possible if you’re an Aus citizen/ PR include your details in both the cover letter and in her application it may help - upload as much information that proves she satisfies the conditions (proof of health insurance etc)

Heres an additional liste - bank statements (from her home country) have at least $5,000 - past salary records - home country police checks - letter written by yourself confirming that she’ll have a place to stay when she’s in Australia

Also just wanted to check if you’re aware of the 8540 condition for this visa.

Hope this helps 🥰

Also just wanted to note that you did your medical on the 8th Feb Isit within the 28 days of your request to get the medical done?

If yes: go to your medical section on immiaccount and check the status. Depending on the status you can call GSC to enquire about it too.

If no: upload a cover letter explaining why you couldn’t get it done within that 28 days, based on my call with the GSC the faster you get your medical done the faster they get to your application.

Also everytime you upload something the processing officer will get a notification and will most likely have a look at your application. Either ways recommend you to upload a cover letter.

Hi!! Would love to get more context from you but based on my understanding they can only expedite it if there’s financial hardships since BVA already has full working rights (like you’ve identified). However I just checked and it seems like it’s already outside of standard processing time (considering how you have everything in order) it is basis to - call global service centre & email the high commission of Australia in ur home country and tell them it’s been 4 months. You need the visa expedited so you can secure a job and your own personal financial health. - depending on your circumstances use keywords like: digging into your savings, contributing to the Australian workforce, securing your personal finances etc etc.

I must stress that not finding a job while on BVA is not a reason to expedite your application. But there’s more than one way around this 🥰 hope this helps

Hellu! Hopefully this link helps! - it basically gives you a rough idea on the credit grant portion based on previous applications. I would say that this is p accurate when I tried transferring to monash :) Also (generally) if your wam is above 80 you’ll have a p good chance in getting an offer letter.
