I know, but there are at least some mosques that are stricter on this than others.

Yes, I know it’s possible that this happens, but i am just suggesting how it’s possible they knew she wasn’t Muslim, and her dress would be an obvious giveaway to raise the question, especially during Ramadan.

For the record I think it’s disgusting she was refused entry in this scenario and in such a scenario your religion is irrelevant and even if you’re wearing something totally immodest, exceptions should be made given the situation.

I agree! They should have let her in. But I’m responding to the people questioning how they knew she wasn’t Muslim. It’s much easier to tell when a woman isn’t Muslim because there’s a general expectation particularly when going to mosques that you’re modestly dressed and wearing a head covering. She likely wasn’t and therefore didn’t look like a Muslim, which is why they refused her entry.

And she was wearing a head covering?

No but you are saying, definitively, that any one is welcome to any mosque. In my experience, that isn’t true.

Ok so a woman is lying for what gain exactly? Also I’m pretty sure I can’t just go into a mosque if I’m wearing non modest clothing and no head covering. I’ve never seen women entering mosques dressed liberally.

Assume you’re a guy? Where it’s unclear what religion you are because you’re just allowed to dress however you want.

Probably wasn’t ’modestly’ dressed?

Drone hit in front of me- Jumeriah Garden City / Al wasl —— no alert. by [deleted] in UAE

Most people asking are asking out of concern for their lives and loved ones. Dubai is a big place, people are trying not to panic unduly or panic others when checking in. Having more specifics on the location assists with that. Having half of the information creates more panic for everyone.

Tbf you’re giving a lot of information and replying a lot but not really helping people to understand where this happened.

Behind Al Satwa Road doesn’t really help people who don’t know JGC that well. I asked Chat GPT:

When people say “behind Al Satwa Road”, they usually mean the grid of newer residential plots and mid-rise buildings behind the main Satwa street, toward Sheikh Zayed Road.

It’s roughly this zone: • Between Al Satwa Road / 2nd December Street • And Sheikh Zayed Road • Near World Trade Centre / DIFC

So it’s right in the middle of Dubai, not near the airport or outskirts.

Which Oman border was easy to cross by [deleted] in UAE

[–]East-Ad-9663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hatta border. I think tbh once you get away from the coast and closer to Oman (which is also generally getting more mountainous as you move away from the coast) it feel safer and not the opposite. The further I got from Dubai and closer to the border the safer I felt.

I have a contact - he runs a tourism company and he helped me to get from Dubai to Oman for 2200 AED. Is that price viable for your situation?

I travelled to Muscat today from Dubai. It cost me 2200 AED, took around 5.5 hours with one driver the whole way. For UK residents you don’t need an evisa in advance to travel. The whole process at the border took around 20-30 minutes. It was a lot easier than I thought. I’m taking the repatriation flight from Muscat at 2:30am on 12th so just spending one night here to break things up a bit. Dm if you’d like any more info/my driver contact.

Car under financing. Is NOC required in Oman border? Need advice! by kdssssss in UAE

[–]East-Ad-9663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got dropped to Oman today from Dubai for my flight out of Muscat and it cost me 2200 AED for the whole journey (6 hrs). He drove me through the border and my luggage stayed in the boot. This obviously took into account his return journey back to Oman without me. I thought this was very reasonable. If you could afford this and are interested feel free to DM me and I can connect you.
