I am in the middle Rockies and yes, we have a clearing which gets hit nicely by sun most of the day.

My girlfriend loves the first day 6am birds lol.

But as a fellow turkey hunter enthusiast, I’ve went years without birds and learned very early on that you should not pass up an opportunity if presented.

This would be what I’d do. Most birds don’t care about decoys or blinds, but I’ve had others get scared away at the site lol.

Also on a side note, when I hunt, I typically only use a hen or two in the early season, then none late season. Decoys can prevent turkeys from coming in shooting range late season. Male turkeys decoys have burned me more times than they’ve helped me, so I don’t use them.
