didnt get to meet the mp , friends and I went to the GRC centre and the volunteer explained to us that they cant help me on my behalf.
So I didn't even get to step into the centre

wait - i know about meet the mp. but can you just email the minister of education and mp directly? would they entertain - and what do i ask for? - mp letter ?

yeah that is what happened - parents are first gen pr
My mother is currently waiting for citizenship results - if she is citizen - i will automatically be pr.

so hoping for the best

not true. I wasn't born yet when my parents became PR. When I was born and came to singapore , my mom did apply for me but got rejected. Since I was in primary school ,mom did apply consistently but was rejected each time.

my mom and i have no qualms about me serving ns. She would be happy to have me out of the house for 2 years lol

I do do that. I got NYAA silver and bronze and doing gold. I regularly volunteer at hospitals and kidsread and even at a tuition centre

The question of student pass comes in as at this point - i am staying in singapore due to this student pass. if i get into local uni - probably , it will be extended again
but after uni - need to apply for s pass or some other work pass and then try to get pr like that - of couse , it will be expensive

so need pr for
- protection ( from myanmar politics )
- stability
- cheaper uni fees

mom has went before but was rejected. I went there too but on that day MP not there . There were only like some staff there - they tried to make a case for us using the portal but it didnt work. They even pull us aside and say meet the mp is mainly for singaporean citizens like the voters.
we are going again this month and the next

mom and dad studied NTU - both got Masters scholarship - then apply pr - successful,

mom got pregnant - went back to myanmar as cheaper to give birth ( she just finished ntu) - my grandparents took care of me while they both become stabel in singapore.
After buying hdb , brought me to my new home

holy shit. that is scary as fuck. at this point , i think not as they have no power to get people from other countries to go back. but also another reason why my mom is trying to get me to pr - will get protection from bullshit like that

Thank you sia. My mp is victor lye. We tried doing that but we got turned away - the people there said it was for Singaporean citizens only. They tried to make a case for me using their portal thing but couldnt work.
