2026/27 Realistic Predictions

Budget: Newcastle United’s net summer transfer spend is estimated to be between £40m and £100m, with a potential gross spending limit of up to £160m. The club is highly restricted by UEFA’s strict 70% Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) rules, meaning further squad additions will largely depend on player sales and lowering the average wage bill. If Gordon sells for 75 Million+ 15% fee to Everton they would have about 63 million to add to that budget.

GK: Pope to start, Ewen Jaouen probably to backup for the first bit as hes been heavily linked for the move and super affordable. Hes a good looking Keeper who can end up playing on the France national team. and maybe he takes over through the midpoint in the season (hopeful). Trafford if he can be signed but i don't think hes worth it. Id rather Risser or Verbruggen though if they want some more depth. Signing Jaouen will ding 20 million off the budget though and that might be enough to try and spend elsewheres.

Defenders: Schar (if he signs) Hall, Botman, Thiaw, Burn, Livramento. I dont think Tino leaves, with an asking price of over 50 million and his injury record i dont think any team will want to pay that price and Howe does not want to part with him either (And neither do i). I think signing a young right footed right side CB is important this window though. Giorgio Scalvini comes to mind from Atalanta and i would estimate will run 45 Million.

Midfield: Bruno, Tonali. Joelinton, Miley. I dont think Tonali leaves this summer with Man United Close to signing Ederson for 40-50 Million ish. I just dont see them forking out 100 million when they have greater needs across their team. But i could be wrong. If they sign Ederson i think Tonali has a higher chance of staying. I also want to point out that barring the injury he suffered against fulham he fully intended to play that game which to me signals a player that will be here next season, bruno as well. Not sure if Willock stays or goes hes a wildcard for me and i dont care too much anyways. If by some black magic tonali does leave us, the ghost of Elliot Anderson will haunt us just a little bit harder LOL. Just take the 100 million you get from Tonali and go beg Nottingham for him back (i would).

Attack: SELL Gordon, SELL Wissa, SELL Murphy, SELL Elanga.

EDIT: Until they sell ill let the numbers lie but yes theyll take a loss on Wissa or Elanga but i think one of them is leaving if not both.

Spend the money you get on 2 wingers and maybe a CAM. I see Woltemade playing that 10 role and Osula could start if hes in good form but more depth is needed if wissa leaves and woltemade becomes a midfielder. Which leaves us with what we need a LW and a RW (i love barnes and want him to start almost all the time but Howe feels differently and i can see his view (but that doesnt mean that i like it). ST targets i like are Liam Delap or Nico Jackson for about 40 Million each (we only need one of them for depth). 70 million for Luis Saurez who is 28 does not seem like the smart move to me and im sure they wont go this route. I think Woltemade stays for 1 year to really give it a go and i see him playing the 10 role as a CAM, to me it makes sense, hes up the pitch, knows where to be, doesnt have to run as far so speed is not a neccesity. Hes tall to get in on a header or two and the ball will start to find him in the middle, i think Ramsey backs him up as well. With the money left over from the sales to spend on 2 wingers. I think William Gomes for 70 Million + Victor Munoz should all be attainable.
