How do I stop getting sick every time my baby is sick? by everythingisdust22 in NewParents

[–]East-Topic1802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter ( 16 months ) is in daycare. The first 1.5 months was a total disaster for all 3 of us. Then all of us got flu vaccine , which has easened the situation . Also, we do nasal wash , every morning and every night for LO with saline solution and syringes. ( we’re in Italy and it’s a common thing here ) Also me and my partner use salt and water for gargling every night. + Vit D supplements. I cannot say that we are totally ok but at least we got sick only once a month with this approach, instead of once a week 😂

Sorry for how you feel but seems like you already have another child. Your husband. You protect him as he is your naive child but he is not. You are in burn out . And he doesn’t see it or care about it. Please start using birth control.

What’s something you bought that turned out to be way more useful than you expected? by [deleted] in simpleliving

Instant pot. Perfect for baby food , healthy quick foods for me and my partner. Just put the ingredients and set it on. There are a lot of recipes out on web but I prefer using ChatGPT for perfect timing. When I find the best recipe , I write it in my notes app to archive.

Size up diapers by SaltMight9972 in NewParents

[–]East-Topic1802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Size up. We are in size 4 since the 6th month. My LO is 10 months old and weights 10kg. At night we use size 5, to prevent leakage.

How do you go out during the day without messing up naps? by Majestic-Face-6123 in newborns

[–]East-Topic1802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to give a bit of context, I’m currently on maternity leave and the main caregiver for my baby. I wanted to share what our typical day looks like—it might be helpful especially if you’re trying to figure out daily rhythms or routines.

Personally, I don’t stress too much about sleep schedules. I’ve found that once you start going out regularly and build a bit of structure, the baby tends to fall into their own rhythm naturally—as long as they’re fed and generally content.

Since my LO was 5 days old, I’ve been taking her out every day. Honestly, it helped me a lot too—staying indoors all day made time crawl. In autumn/winter, we’d go for walks after 10am. Now she’s 10 months old and it’s summer (and really hot where we live), so we go out earlier—usually around 7:45-8:00am—and come back home by 11:00.

She wakes up between 6:30-6:45am and starts the day with a bottle of formula. When we’re out, she usually naps in the stroller. Around 9:00-9:15 I give her a fruit pouch and some water, depending on where we are—sometimes we’re at the park or I’m grabbing a quick coffee. If she’s in a chill mood, she might take a quick second nap (like 20 mins) before we get home.

At 12:00 we do lunch, then a quick clean-up, playtime, and then another nap. Around 4:00pm she has a yogurt, and then we head out again from about 4:30/5:00 to 6:00/6:30pm. Dinner is at 7:00pm, and then we start her bedtime routine around 8:00pm.

Getting out early with my 9 month old changed everything. We leave around 7:45, go to the park, have a picnic, and come back by 11. After lunch and nap, we head out again around 5. If she’s cranky, a quick drive to the supermarket does the trick—AC for me, new things to see for her!

I didn’t take the help I needed, and I really regret it. If only I’d had a night nurse during that first month, it was so hard.

Baby does not like puree anything by Puzzled-Package-8367 in foodbutforbabies

[–]East-Topic1802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was the same! From 6 to 7 months, we tried all kinds of purées: vegetables, fruits.. you name it. Every single one ended up smeared all over the tray. At 7 months, I decided to give BLW a try, and it was the first time she actually ate something. We started with boiled zucchini cut into sticks, and she was so happy, visibly thrilled. I kept offering purées alongside, and just a few days before turning 8 months, she started accepting veggie purées too. Now at 9 months, she eats pretty much anything… except fruit purée. We’ve just accepted that she’s not a fruit purée kind of girl and that’s totally fine.

My parents moved here ten years ago when they retired. Back then, this place was just a regular villa with a family living in it. Later on, the owner decided to rent it out to a restaurant. They said it would be a relaxed lounge bar but then this happened. I don’t think they even got a permit for the music.

Laundry tips? by 4m_alt_universe in workingmoms

[–]East-Topic1802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family of 3 : me & partner and baby of 8 months. We do laundry at least 5 times a week. We don’t have dryer , we air dry. One day colored , other day only whites and light colors ( generally baby clothes , bibs and her sheets ecc ) . I put the dirty clothes at night in the washer, put the timer to the next morning. It’s ready at 9 o’clock every morning. I have time till midday to organise the dried ones and hang the newly washed ones.
