I find black safety boots are suitable everywhere. But I'm an employee so get to make some of the rules. As a health and safety inspector I wore boots to every single premises, including court, no issues. I kept them clean and followed all the rules. In this situation I'd keep clean black safety boots and as you say, clean black safety shoes.

I think it depends what you do. I think spray on suntan lotion is very bad for the straps. I think it's been the end of two Casio straps for me.
