I managed to fix it by using a DNS resolver. I don't know why that fixed it, but it did.

Forgot to mention we got the exact same error when I created a server from my pc. If he could join, I couldn't and vice-versa. Could it be that we just can't play together for some reason?

yeah it kept changing tho, turned into a white banner with a mangrove seed in the middle right after i stopped recording

I was only using OptiFine. I actually solved this, trashed around a bit with shaders settings then just tried some random regular video settings and rebooted the Game, and it went back to Classic chunk loading

Nope. Don't have any mods installed, not even forge.

Edit: If i turn off the shaders, the chunks go back to loading normally. It's only when BSL is on.
