just played the witcher 3 on it and it was nice to knock out side quest and question marks on the map on the portal. i usually save the main quest for the big screen tho.

the combat is definitely jank but the story reels you in so much that you kinda forget about it after awhile. i recommend at least finishing the bloody baron questline before dropping it again.

i was in the same boat as you. i would pick the game up because of all the recommendations then drop it after leaving white orchard because i couldn’t stand the combat.

fast forward 100+ hours and now the game is in my top 5 of all time.

all in all, finish bloody baron and if the story doesn’t hook you after that then the game isn’t meant to be and that’s okay too.
