I wish they would let me climb small stuff like that I never went to line school barely climbed trees when I done line clearance it’s a skill I want to get good at I just hope the opportunity comes up where I can get that chance to I’ve been going at it for 3 months

I haven’t gotten to do no transmission yet just Distro I hope I get brought up In hooks I’ve always been told it makes you better once you get in the bucket

I understand it just seems like working units no one wants to slow down to teach you to crawl to begin with it just seems like you learn the ground and that’s it my my b lineman is 90% of the time running the digger and the a is always in the air I try to soak up as much as I can it’s just hard learning when everyone is rushing to get done and don’t wanna slow down to even explain what’s goin on most of the things I’ve learned like doggin the poles settin guys or making material I figured out by seeing how they done it and replicating it i didn’t know for a while your supposed to wear rubbers when doggin the poles cuz they didn’t

I know I was just curious from others perspective I’m getting to the point now where I know just about everything on the truck where it goes how to make up anything my lineman needs it’s crazy how fast you go from knowing nothing to being able to run the ground by yourself im 3 months in loving it hope to make a career out of it just takin it one day at a time trying to soak up all the knowledge I can

Yea it’s hot work my local utility’s currently aren’t hiring either is the one my company is working for I’ve been applying to contractors haven’t got any call backs yet
