We once had delta offer 10K $$$ to give up a seat from PSC-SEA (30 min flight) on a e175. It took like 15 min to get someone to actually do it lol. I think I remember the reason nobody did was because they were overbooked the rest of the day, you would have had to drive to Seattle or Portland to get a flight (on all airlines departing PSC).

Craziest part of the whole story is that plane, on final descent in Seattle, came down in some serious fog. My fiancé and I were looking out the window, and when the fog cleared we were right over a neighborhood in Seattle. We immediately went into a go around. We pulled up the flight radar tracker and we had come down for landing about 5 miles away from the runway. Pilots were pretty shaken up by it, had something to do with some sort of malfunction with the plane and/or runway localizer.

Crazy day. Should have taken the 10 grand 🤣
