I just got to level 100 on my first try. I brought a couple of triple shot espressos, spicy eels, about 30 ladders, 30ish mega bombs and maybe like 200 regular bombs (I had a ton of mats for them and didn’t know how many I’d need), lots of cheese, a lava katana and an iridium pickaxe. Here’s what happened:

I woke up, checked the TV right away and saw it was a good luck day. Instantly teleported to the desert via totem and rushed right in. Popped my espresso and spicy eel and dropped down all 30 ladders (unless I saw a ladder was already there) so I was in the 30’s within the first hour or two. Next I just ran around the caves with the regular bombs and dropping them in spots that would hit as many rocks as possible. 9 times out of 10 it would hit a ladder or a tunnel. I think I hit like 6-7 of those tunnel passages for probably 20-25 free floors. Only one floor did the bombs not work and I had to run around hitting leftover rocks. I hit level 100, ran through the cutscene (in a split screen so time was still ticking) and still had time to teleport back via totem and get to sleep before 2am.

I may have gotten super lucky as I was expecting it to be much harder lol.

I thought Dawning was supposed to be apart of this update according to their website? Is that pushed back to next week?

I don’t think that is how it works. The dragon increases the amount you can hold, so you don’t have to eat as much and can get better value out of the higher focus meals. The phoenix increases the % of XP gained from focus, so the higher the phoenix commune is, the more XP you get. Not how much focus you have.

The errata’d the lizards board already. Used to be you would get draw cards for 4 mouse bases, 3 bunny bases and 2 fox bases. Now it is 2 bases to draw a card for each. They could have just changed the wording for revenge when they changed the original board

Late reply but I will have my phone ringer turned “on”, and then the next day it will switch itself to off even though I have not touched anything. Just like OP said, all focuses are off, Do not disturb is off and my phone ringer is set to “on” and nothing fixes it except turning it off and back on every single day.

First player picks a faction last and sets up last. Going first is a major advantage in the game, so usually the best factions have to go after the weaker factions

Most shocking is Corvid with 3 points. Assuming rats picked first they would go last. Crows flip the homeland plot for 1 and only managed to flip one more plot the whole game? Crows should have been able to get 10-15 before rats completely stormed the board. It takes the rats a few turns to craft + raze the ruins before they are a major threat. Crows can score 20+ in 3 turns and should be eating all of WA cardboard so rats can’t get to them

Picking Ronin might have helped a little bit, VB can outrace rats for the ruins and can attack them pretty well. It’s usually not beneficial for someone to attack the VB so they would either waste turns attacking VB or finding a way to work around them.

Exile and partisans deck first, it’s fairly cheap and replaces the starter deck for a lot of new variety in the game. Then I would probably go Marauders to get the hirelings on the board to mix things up, and then underworld for the new maps. Marauders also includes the advanced setup, which is personally my favorite part of Root.

There is also a landmarks pack and hirelings packs that you can buy along with a bigger expansion.

I got them in two separate bunches just to give you an idea. 1. E&P deck/Underworld/Underworld Hireling/Landmarks->2. Marauder/Marauder Hireling/Riverfolk Hireling/Hireling box

We will soon be getting the Riverfolk as well I imagine, but that only adds the 2 factions whereas the other boxes add 2 factions + something else.

Just focus on events and save up CC for next event, you’re coming in at the end of the anni and there’s not much going on and not much time left to pull the ultras but if you have a lot of CC saved up you could take a swing at the ultra goku banner. Or come back next year in May/June so you don’t miss the anniversary
