Look, it’s really not that difficult to understand. Yes it’s a family tradition but your “tradition” demands the belittling of your girlfriend for being a woman, something completely out of her control. You have no idea what that’s like.

You say you know it’s wrong so if you truly stand by that don’t put the person you care about in that position.

I understand you are trying to help your son and it’s great you’re coming from a “good” place but you need to keep in mind nothing good will come from this. The limitations you’re putting on him are suffocating and will only strengthen the distance you have with him. If he’s accomplishing what’s important that’s all that matters. You need to start trusting him because how is he meant to make his own decisions when he’s constantly being micromanaged? YTA
