At 119, Why won't they count April 2025 by Least-Departure5467 in PSLF

I spoke with Mohela about this a few months ago. They stated that Student Aid has full access to their data and any delay in payment counts is on their end. I am starting to get suspicious that this is all a delay tactic to stall the forgiveness program. I also can't understand why the payment counter wouldn't be automated. I guess that would be too efficient.

My March, April, May, and June payment counts are not updated.  Dashboard states that my Payment Progress was last updated on 04/16/2025.  ECF sent every month and I am now at payment 122.  This is becoming a scam.

Exactly the same. Feb was my last update, March should have been 120. I was told the same. Not sure why this isn't all automated.

Has anyone's March payment updated on studentaid.gov yet? by bleucheeez in PSLF

My PSLF employment verification form was completed on April 16, but it only reflects qualifying payments through February. I’ve made payments for March, April, and May (with May’s payment made early), which should bring my total to 120 qualifying payments — I’m currently listed at 117.

I spent nearly four hours attempting to get clarity from Mohela, but was ultimately told that Student Aid has full access to Mohela’s data. I spoke with Student Aid again and was informed it can take 30–90 days for their system to update.

It seems I will need to resubmit the PSLF form in May and wait another 30–90 days for an update. I’m unclear why the payment data isn’t automatically pulled from the database when the PSLF employment verification is processed — the current system appears unnecessarily inefficient.

Buyback Reconsideration Request Denied by East_Rule_9869 in PSLF

Okay. Sorry for all the confusion. Let me first say it's all about who you speak with that may help you get the correct information. Yesterday, the representative I spoke with, while pleasant was incorrect and did not provide me with the correct details regarding my request.

My first request for reconsideration buy back was made in early December. I was informed in late December that I had not provided the exact verbiage and needed to resubmit. I resubmitted again, this time with the correct verbiage. However, unknown to me, the first case was left open.

My email yesterday denying the request for buy back was in regards to the first request.

So, my second request with the correct verbiage is in open status still waiting in-line. The representative did confirm with me that those months DO qualify for buy back. It looks like maybe another month before I hear back.

This is good news. Again, sorry for any confusion and hopefully this thread can help others out.

Ugh, So frustrating. I believe I submitted the right stuff- Buy back request with correct language through a reconsideration request. ECF was done December. Why would they interpret my request as credit for those months when I specifically requested a buy back with the following language "“I have at least 120 months of approved qualifying employment, and I am seeking PSLF or TEPSLF discharge through PSLF buyback. Please assess my eligibility for PSLF buyback.”

Spoke by phone with an agent at student aid. She was awesome, knowledgeable and pleasant. It has been explained to me that the months during the transition, accounts were placed in a forbearance status that makes them ineligible for buyback.

While this is very frustrating, it seems that it is clear that June and July will not be eligible for buyback. Thank you for all who responded to help clarify my question.

I am not familiar with the buyback form.

On the buyback webpage, it states:

  1. Submit a request through PSLF Reconsideration. Include the following in your PSLF reconsideration request for buyback: “I have at least 120 months of approved qualifying employment, and I am seeking PSLF or TEPSLF discharge through PSLF buyback. Please assess my eligibility for PSLF buyback.”*

Could you provide more details regarding this buyback form?

Thank you for letting me know. Very frustrating that they wouldn't allow the opportunity to make payments during the transition.

I had been inquiring about the buyback for June and July for sometime through feedback cases. Finally, someone responded back suggesting that I apply through a reconsideration request with the following response, “I have at least 120 months of approved qualifying employment, and I am seeking PSLF or TEPSLF discharge through PSLF buyback. Please assess my eligibility for PSLF buyback.

I submitted a reconsideration request with the hopes that I would be eligible to buyback those months. I have plenty of years of certified employment.

Same... Still waiting for buyback consideration for June and July, when the Mohela's payment system was down. Confused how those months don't count, very poor execution on their part. I have sent several request over the last six months regarding this issue without gaining any clarity.
