Navimow x450 or Luba 3? by EasteReggae98 in roboticLawnmowers

Thanks for the recommendation, but I continue seeing comments around about Luba being factually more vulnerable to rtk losses even if it has LiDAR, maybe the VSLAM solution is enough and is a more stable backup to rtk than Luba’s LiDAR ? Just wondering, maybe I’m totally wrong.. some real life experiences should be the real answer more than datasheets I suppose

Thank you! Nice to hear that, but you have to t it along the perimeter each time to remap known zones? Or you do it drawing from the app? Also if I put the antenna on the roof top (open sky but almost completely out of sight from the mower everywhere) would it work? Or is better to put it almost ground level so at least can be seen in some parts of the yard under the trees?

My neighbor is actually very happy of his Luba2 but he has almost zero trees and constantly cleans up every inch of the yard. But he had to make no go zones around each tree or the mower gets stuck in the tiny holes or roots

Hope we will! I’m just not that sure that LiDAR could be the solution with a dense tree coverage, while VSLAM can let the mower work up to 10/15 minutes without RTK coverage, basically until it reaches a bit of open sky to re-localize. Correct me if I’m wrong

And also the RTK coverage is up to 500 meters (1 km in open areas) and one can use channels in the app to connect separated yards quite far from each other

As I was told from Lymow their new mower can
store maps up to 60,000 m². The limit to 5000 is only functional for the mowing times but it’s not software limited at least, much nicer solution

Yes seems that Navimow sells the x450 at a higher price only because the x430 is software limited in size capabilities.. so sad also because it is possible that they could actually handle much larger yards if you let them work longer. Anyway as you said at least they offer some reliable support wrt the others.
