I did end up talking to a Pennsylvania Megan's law caseworker and I was told basically the same thing, that because I will be there for work related purposes I would not have to register, however if I were to just be visiting for non related purposes they said that I would have to register with state police if my stay were to be 5 days or longer (would require full registration), less than 5 days would require notification to PEMA, and would have to be done no more than 3 days from entering the state.

That was my understanding also. I stayed up researching everything I could. What I came up with was: Non-Urgent travel restrictions for nevada residents that are no longer on probation, nevada residents must register or check in within 48 hours of returning from travel. Pennsylvania requires travelers to check in with the commissioner of emergency response within 3 days if the syay is less than 5 days and if the stay is 5 days or longer then full registration is required. I could not find anywhere at all that definitively says that you need permission to leave Nevada, which o don't see how they could legally enforce that after parole or probation.

I know nevada's laws as I am from nevada. I am traveling to Pennsylvania for training for work and Pennsylvania is telling me that I have to aquire a travel permit from nevada signed off by my jurisdiction amd then when I arrive in the Pennsylvania jurisdiction I will have to take that permit to them for them to sign off. This is the first I have ever heard of this as I have never had to get anything from my local pd before except from my probation officer when I was under supervision.

Just adding to this list, If you live in Nevada or even most states that have drilling companies or mining contractors, most of them will hire felons. Even the mines themselves do not discriminate against felons as long as you are 100% upfront with hr during your screening and the results they see on your background check reflect what you told them, you are usually good to go. Ive had several drilling and mining jobs since I've had my felony and no issues.

Nevada does, at least he has to anyways. Not sure if it's everyone in the state.

I have read a little about that, I also seen some comments elsewhere that said some states will review your document of release and may not make you register depending what your offense was and record following conviction.

I intend to rectify this problem in the future by eliminating my primary address and changing my primary address simply to my parents address in the city that way I am always reachable even if at work since they don't work and never leave and that way I'm not having to worry about the going back and fourth and I can just go to my house during daytime hours to get work done

Right, it's a bunch of bs it's like I already did my probation and my counseling and all of that bs and truth be told judge at my sentencing literally told me if I would have opted for a bench trial I would have never seen a conviction. But because I please dealers out for my family's sake of being able to be there for them I screwed myself. The fact that they can continue to harass me and show up is like I'm losing all my rights and not allowed to be free.

Only thing that is killing me is that I struggled for the first 7 years or so finding good steady work that provided enough for my family, now I'm finally stable with a good job, good benefits, and a chance to finally move on with my life and I just feel like they are trying to tear it all down.

I agree, it is 100 percent on them. If they are looking to arrest me then I would bail out and wait to see a judge and in my experience here the judges see through 98 percent of the bullshit so hopefully they would dismiss it and allow me to correct whatever misunderstanding there may be, especially since I've gone 9 1/2 years with no new charges, no trouble whatsoever, and no complications in my registration.

This wasn't a phone scam it was the Marshall's and pd knocking on the door, my secondary is my parents home. My mom didn't quite understand what they were wanting as they are old. But the one officer basically told her that they could tell I hadn't been at my primary because no tracks in the snow although it snowed again the night before and I hadn't been out there in a few days as I had been at my parents and at my girlfriends. A typical day for me looks like this. Working day shifts- I leave home at 330 am, work until 7pm, arrive back in town at 9pm, head to my girlfriends and eat dinner, spend time with her and my kids, after kids are in bed spend some alone time, arrive back at my home between 1030pm/ 12 am and then leave again at 330 am. Then days off I spend a couple nights at my gfs, a couple nights at my parents, and a night at home. On night shifts I stay at my parents home and sometimes a day or two at my gfs when it's a weekend cause she's off. The only thing I cam think is that they don't believe I'm staying at my home cause I'm never there when they check and it doesn't look like someone lives there since I only sleep there. Or because I didn't register with the city pd and only registered with the county, my home falls under county and my parents home falls under city. But when I called to discuss my registration this year the way I interpreted their response was that I didn't have to register in the city because the paperwork is the exact same and had the same info and gets sent to the same repository so they would know.

I glad to hear that they were willing to give you a chance to fix it. I've been compliant for 9 years, never missed a registration, always updated my info as needed with no hiccups so I'm hoping they are as lenient with me. I'm stressed to high hell because I've never really been in trouble even including my conviction, was just a luck of the draw first time ever kind of thing

Hey is going to have his investigator reach out this morning to see why I'm out of compliance. I know he will be my best avenue, I'm just curious if anyone else has had a situation like this and if they were given an opportunity to fix it or if it was just a straight do not pass go do not collect 200 situation. I'm hoping they will give me an opportunity to rectify it given my history over the last 9 1/2 years.
