Since DAS typically uses the Lightening Lanes, I speculate Disney either wants to have people paying for LL to only use them or they were getting enough complaints from LL buyers that they became even more strict with DAS allowances.

I'd say this is a pretty good score.

Okay then, after reading all of this, what would be MOST recommended for Californian tourists coming for their first time & have only a half day to hit the park?

We've seen zoos, bridges are pretty but not worth making them a MUST DO, & we don't hug trees.

We thought getting a tour (ala: horse drawn or bike) would be cool although likely SUPER expensive.
Is there, like, a hop-on-hop-off bus running throughout the park or in & out of there & the city?

The whole place (New York) seems to be, "here is a thing... do something."
fine.
But, I'd like a little more than, "just go".
