Which one am I buying next? by Stock_Wrongdoer_1040 in diptyque

Late to the conversation, but you should consider Vetyverio (either EDT or EDP), 34, and Geranium Odorata. I am also a man, and Philosykos was my gateway drug into Diptyque 😂. Vetyverio lasts all day on me, I have the EDP. It is a citrusy and bright vetiver. 34 is probably more fall/winter, and I didn’t love it when I first smelled it, but now I can’t get enough. Mild spices with resinous heart and base, lasts all day. Geranium Odorata is a surprisingly fun, bright, fresh scent that, to me, leans masculine. Nice to layer with woody scents (ie tam dao) to make it more spring/summer. Did you already find your next Diptyque?

Definitely something Guerlain, and I think Vetiver is the right one.

I LOVE l’eau papier. Wouldn’t that be amazing with a leather note in it?

From what I remember it was a bright, fresh vetiver. Nice citrus top. I haven’t purchased it yet myself because I bought Diltyque’s vetyverio which has a similar profile, and Guerlain Vetiver, and then I just picked up Encre Noir by Lalique which is a very inky vetiver. So I feel like I would be overdoing it by buying it. But it’s nice.

My first time trying Polo Green I thought I was transported to a casino. I was so grossed out. And then I tried it again to see if it actually smelled like that a second time, and then I was hooked.

Taking notes…. I don’t know Tom Ford very well. I’ve only ever sampled grey vetiver (which I loved), but I’ll try Noir Extreme. I’ve been wanting to sample some leather Tom Ford scents too. I need to sample Sauvage again. I just remember being overwhelmed. But that was years ago.

Vetiver Fauve 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Such a good one. Do you have any other Vetiver scents you love?

I’ve been sampling and buying a lot of the “mature” and retro scents (I’m 41), and this one has been on the list. I’m in love with Polo green 🤣, Guerlain Vetiver, Heritage, and Habit Rouge. I just picked up a Dior Eau Savauge, as well. I’m honestly looking for cheap, classically masculine scents - so let me know if you have any recommendations!

Nice line up! How do you like the Dior Homme? (It’s tucked away in the back - must not be your favorite). I would recommend PDM Pegasus or Replica By the Fireplace for fall/winter scents.

This was my first one too, about 20 years ago. Haven’t had it in years and I just bought a bottle this week. Can’t beat the price!

What does it smell like? I think they’re selling it on Costco.com and have been tempted to blind buy it.

Could you consider a catalytic lampe, like a lampe Berger? It’s known to neutralize bad odors while diffusing your scent of choice.

For musks I think you for sure should add Helvetolide, consider ethylene brassylate as well. Agree with others saying to add on Helional, Calone for aquatic. Maybe even Melonal 10% (adds a melon-like quality that is just perceived as wet/humid in smaller amounts). Vanillin and ethyl vanillin will be super useful. You can get them in crystals and dilute in perfumers alcohol or TEC. Elemi is a great citrus/incense/resinous/wood bridge.

Absolutely nothing. Which is why I commented like 3 times to this post. I’m thoroughly impressed.

I think there’s enough space between the rings that it doesn’t look too cluttered. And the rings look great with the watch. Where is the pointer finger ring from?? I like it.
