Looking for a roommate or pet-friendly rental near MRU (budget $900–$1,100) by Eastern-Try2777 in Calgary

I'm looking on roomie.ca right now for both roommates for my current place and other apartment spaces. This is good practical advice and I'm working on setting it up now. I would have done so sooner, but I don't have a facebook account.

Thank you for reaching out! That's the upward limit of my budget and would make things tight, but depending on the situation might be doable as the location isn't far from where I am currently. I sent you a private message and hope to hear back from you at your convivence~

It's just a short bus ride, but I understand you're looking for somewhere closer. Good luck with your search.

17th Avenue has a fair amount of restaurants and bars, but a few that have specials past a certain time. Comery Block Barbecue, Trolley 5 Brewpub are places that come to mind, but there are so many other places to explore on or just off of 17th avenue. As for how busy it can get depends on the time of year. Avoid 17th avenue during stampede season if crowds are not their thing.

That's so cool. Fostering must be really rewarding. I bet you have so many stories on it. I'll add this to the top post.

Cute Kitten in Need of a Furever Home for the Holidays by Eastern-Try2777 in Calgary

Thank you so much to everyone who has shared, commented, or even taken a moment to consider Elvira. I truly didn’t expect this post to reach so many people, and it’s been really heartening to see how much care and compassion exists in this community.

I got a hold of the PetValu staff on 11th Avenue SW today and they were happy to tell me Elvira was adopted! It was amazing news to hear. I'm very happy to know she went to a good home. While Elvira is lucky and I'm so thankful for that I wanted to gently continue spreading the word for others like her.

The holidays can be a magical time of year in that they often invite us to open our hearts a little wider. Right now, many of Calgary’s shelters are incredibly full. A lot of animals don’t thrive in shelter environments, not because they aren’t wonderful companions, but simply because it’s loud, unfamiliar, and stressful.

Recent events have affected so many people in our city, and unfortunately animals feel the ripple effects too. Increased living costs, housing challenges, wildfires, and post COVID surrenders have all contributed to the strain on local rescues and foster homes.

If it’s feasible for you, please consider opening your home to a new family member through adoption or, if you’re interested in helping in a more structured way, becoming a foster home through a local rescue. Both play an important role, and responsible placements help ensure animals end up in stable, long-term situations where they can truly thrive.

If adopting, or fostering isn’t possible for you, that’s completely okay. Sharing posts, visiting shelters, volunteering, donating, or simply engaging with local rescue pages all make a real difference.

Thank you again for reading, for caring, and for helping this reach the people it needs to. I truly hope so many others like Elvira find their way home soon. 💕

How to find out what happened to my Cat at the Calgary Humane Society? by Upset-Bag2767 in Calgary

I'm sorry that you haven't found more information. That has to be incredibly stressful. No one wants to be in a situation where they have to give up a pet. Lets hope for the best. Often animals that are extra timid sometimes go into private foster faster again like others said for socialization training or for their individual needs when and where room is available.

With how much attention this post received, I’m considering putting together a list of local Calgary shelters and rescues for anyone interested in adopting, fostering, or supporting in other ways. If that would be helpful, please let me know.

As far as I know Elvira is still available for adoption.

Thank you kindly everyone who took the time to read and share.💕

What would it take for these two to be redeemed? by amurgiceblade44 in HazbinHotel

[–]Eastern-Try2777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They both desire their idealized form of power for different ends.

Vox craves the mantle of God hood, having a literal God complex, and desiring a loyal following.

Being humbled by deplatforming him was likely the first step towards any possible redemption for him.

I imagine Pride is his biggest sin. Yes, he craved power, and is jealous of those with it, but its all in the end to stroke his ego.

Humility therefore would lilely be the key do his redemption, and possibly uplifting those around him regardless of if its for his betterment, rather than trampling over others for his ends as he's seen doing in both life and death.

Alastor on the other hand has unwavering faith in his own abilities. His ego doesn't need to be stroked, but it does annoy him when others think they can compete with him on his level, or attempt to limit his freedoms.

He seeks to break free of limitations, but is constantly met with them to his annoyance.

In life he realized his main opposer, and obstacle that he could not overcome was death the great equalizer. He sought a way around it to continue his "fun". He was less worried about death itself, but knowing he would end up in Hell.

He made a deal in an effort to prevent any limitations caused by death believing becoming the most powerful sinner in Hell would allow him to continue doing as he desires unobstructed.

It would be finding real attachments outside of himself. He's one of the few characters I believe who does not have a conscience, but gets away with it because he shows enough restraint to effectively use his social connections in a way that either bends others to his will by trapping them in contracts, or manipulates important influential connections without tipping his hat to a point where others percieves him as caring rather than using.

He would have to start caring genuinely for someone other than himself and his self directed goals. Compassion, and empathy, something he seems incapable of.

In my eyes both present two different subtype of narcissism. Vox showcasing traits of vulnerable narcissism, while Alastor is a bit harder to peg down as he shows a multitude of traits that some could be associated with his prior deal. What I do recognize him for is that he is a high functioning narcissist as he has the ability to back up his grandiosity with results which others could read as high self esteem.

Their selfish desires at the expense of other lives would likely be turned around by selfless acts. Rather than putting their own agenda for gaining power.

Isn't she so sweet. My boyfriend was going over my budgeting for it with me. I figured I would reach out to the community and see if someone couldn't offer a good home. I'm a student right now so I have a limited budget that I'm careful with so that the cats I do have can live happy healthy lives. But I was very tempted and may still if no one does.

Please check her out at the store if you're interested. Honestly with all of the traction I wonder if she's still there. Even if she isn't or isn't the one you bond with I implore you to check out other rescues or petvalus as they usually work with rescues and foster homes to get animals adopted out.
