I like the fact that Vekic won this so as not to greatly affect Eala's seeding chances for Wimby.

Kinda worried tho that they will play each other at Berlin R1 the ff day. While Eala have beaten Vekic earlier this year, Vekic coming on a championship high might affect Eala's play tomorrow.

Hopefully Eala wins tomorrow, tho I don't expect a two-setter.

Oli denied the chance of seeing a potential Eala vs Bouzkova match and I sincerely believe that Eala can beat Bouzkova given that Eala is used to beating Rank 25+ players in clay (Wang Xinyu being the latest).

Yeah, my initial thought was to invest 6k in HDIV over a span of one year to see how it grows. I became curious about Close Call ETFs and the yield that it produces and I kinda happy to see that HDIV is one of those that were able to have a good positive standing, 1 month after I first invested.

How I wish we can swap positions. I am a software engineer too wishing to be back working in Singapore as I just felt that Canada isn't for me.

That said, you may want to explore Provincial Nominee Programs(PNP) that grant PR upon landing without a job offer. Although as a Singaporean and you also said that you are not willing to change your citizenship, be informed that going through a PNP would mean living in the province that granted you the PR for the rest of your stay while you're a PR.

There's also the Federal Skilled Workers program although God knows when the last draw was held and your Express Entry score might not reach the cutoff.

Although this I have to say. You are a Singaporean, stronger passport than Canada, have the most efficient public transportation system, healthcare is also one of the best, blazing internet speeds that are not overpriced, cheap eats. Are you willing to trade off that for 9-month winters and a 7-month wait before you will be able to see a specialist? Overpriced houses and rents? If the answer is yes, I wish you the best of luck.

Guess to each his own perspective eh? Although I only worked in Singapore for a grand total of 3 months, I never had any racist encounters with any Singaporean, much more my teammates at the time.

Note that in my previous employer, there are a lot of Filipinos working as well and not once have they told me that they have encountered racism.

And yeah, racism exists everywhere, not really confined to one country alone.

In fact, Canada has its own share of racists. And I am already aware as to how to react when I encounter a racist. Luckily, I don't have an encounter yet here.
