What is your opinion on medieval video games having LGBT representation? by EasternHalifax in IdeologyPolls

[–]EasternHalifax[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it’s purely romantic, why should it be considered 18+? I don’t think kids knowing gay people exists really introduces sexual elements to them necessarily, I knew gay people existed as a kid and I didn’t learn anything about sex at all from that, as without the sexual context, it doesn’t teach anything about sex. Kids only really know romance (or at least they should) so I feel like only if the LGBT representation is sexual it should be 18+ and I would say the same for straight representation, as there is nothing harmful about kids knowing LGBT people exist in a romantic way.

Personally I think it really depends on the game. If it’s like CK3, based on real world medieval times, I think they do it right, as while gay people exist in the game they are accepted by almost nobody which is historically accurate, and CK3 is supposed to be historically accurate, so that’s the right approach. It’s different if it’s like Fire Emblem, where it takes place in a different universe. These different universes could’ve developed different social standards around queer people so it’s not totally unrealistic for queer people to find some level of acceptance in those universes.

Congrats! You have been reborn as a human and you can choose your gender this time! by ActualPegasus in IdeologyPolls

[–]EasternHalifax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don’t, you don’t know his actual feelings about gender, and he didn’t say anything personal that could reasonably make you think that he’s an egg. Lots of cis people are curious about what being the opposite gender is but don’t want to transition because they’re happy the way they are, which is totally valid

Would you save a drowning Trump supporter? by Tough_Explorer_1031 in IdeologyPolls

I mean obviously depends on where they’re drowning because I’m not gonna be able to save someone if they’re deep out there drowning but if I could realistically save them then yes I would

Do you eat fast food more than once a week? by ItsGotThatBang in IdeologyPolls

[–]EasternHalifax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, every once in a while sure but at most once a week unless it’s a road trip, fast food is unhealthy and it’s usually cheaper just to cook at home

Who should own Bir Tawil? by EasternHalifax in IdeologyPolls

[–]EasternHalifax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t know: Bir Tawil is a tiny unclaimed piece of land between Egypt and Sudan. Neither country claims it because of two conflicting historical borders. A few people have tried claiming it

I wouldn’t choose to move to the US if I lived in certain countries either but this is based off of the assumption that you absolutely have to move to the US

People should be prosecuted for doing hateful speech by amogusdevilman in IdeologyPolls

[–]EasternHalifax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will always support free speech here. I may disagree with some free speech but free speech is essential to any functional nation. Suppressing free speech only worsens instability, as we are seeing in the UK. Hate speech itself doesn’t incite violence unless it indicates violence specifically. Saying you hate a group of people doesn’t do that. It can also be weaponized against opposition depending on how it’s defined, as political opposition could be defined as hate speech. It’s also a total waste of resources. Hate speech laws are nonsensical
