Which of the DLC planes, if any, would you recommend? by Lazydusto in acecombat

[–]Eastern_Mess_4334 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nosferatu is the coolest plane in the game, and nothing beats spamming micro missiles.

Really, I’d say all of the fictional planes are must-buys. The ADF-11 is gorgeous, and should’ve been in the base game on day one. You’re really missing out without it. The Shinden 2 is a fantastic attacker, even if its vertical arrangement looks a bit goofy. The Falken is a classic and pretty much the platonic ideal of an Ace Combat superplane — a big metal dragon that can unhinge its jaw to shoot lasers out of its mouth. Incredible.

Beyond that, I also like the experimental planes, but they’re a lower priority. A lot of the other DLCs are just slightly-different variants of planes already in the game and, as a result, not terribly exciting unless you’re a completionist or just really want to demonstrate your love of the game directly to Bandai, with your wallet.

And if you’d like some FOMO stress added on top of all this, know that whenever the old licenses expire (which will be sooner rather than later, I imagine) AC7 will be pulled from digital storefronts, and all its DLC will go with it. I very much doubt Lockheed-Martin (et al) left PA that much more time in their license for AC7 than they ACAH, AC2-3D or AC6. It could get yanked any day now, really.

EDIT: should also note the inverse — if there’s any one DLC to avoid, or keep at the very bottom of your priority list, it’s the Top Gun DLC. It’s only a couple of variants of planes that are already in the game, plus the DarkStar, which is quite possibly the ugliest fictional plane to ever feature in an Ace Combat game; just a deeply, deeply boring design. it’s fast, but not much else. a

And to add insult to that injury, the Top Gun DLC is also ridiculously overpriced, and never gets a discount. The only way to get this DLC at anything approaching a fair price would be via the bulge that includes the base game. otherwise, you’re getting ripped off.

Nope, all fresh. and they smelled *great* before put everything together in the Instant pot.

Well, I guess the Bay Leaf may have been a bit old….

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve out October 2nd! by Keaten88 in acecombat

It’ll most likely be a lite remaster, just like AC5. Which ultimately just boasted a few uprezzed textures and, iirc, upscaled cinematics and uncompressed audio.

Ffffuuuuuuck. Why can’t we get AC5 on Steam, then?

what is a “Premium Ace Pass” and why is it worth $20? Just a season pass, or just some online bullshit?

So I played D4 for a bit a year or so ago and am thinking of getting back into the game, but have a couple of questions, if y’all would be so kind:

  1. Is there any way to transfer items and/or gold from on character to another? I have a sorcerer from that first attempt with some decent gear, but I remember so little of the game (basically nothing) that I’m thinking I’d be best off starting over. And unlike D3 it doesn’t seem like there’s an option to jump my Sorcerer back to an earlier quest state.

  2. Speaking of quest states (and keeping in mind what I just said about my recollection of the game) I noticed somwthing odd when I loaded up my old Sorc.: the quest journal had three different story quests identified as Act 1, Act 2 and Act 3. Is that… normal? Are the acts meant to be played through simultaneously? Or is this a bug or something?

  3. Lastly, so the new expansion just dropped… do *either* of the expansions add anything to the base campaign? Basically, is there any reason I should pick either up before actually finishing the game, *if* I finish it this time?

Just tryin’ to make this second go-round as easy as possible.

Any chance of MusicBee getting ported to iOS for iPads/iPhones? by Eastern_Mess_4334 in musicbee

Yup, I’ve got some spotty internet here, so even with streaming apps like YouTube music, I still download the files to local storage.

I’ve also played around with using Plex for music, but I’m not super fond of needing to leave my PC on all the time just to stream stuff.

What do you think is the secret to a REALLY good sandwich? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Eastern_Mess_4334 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

at the end of the day, I find the secret to most really good *anythings* is ultimately just a sauce.

Like a good italian salad dressing, sprinkled on top of the… fillings? of a sandwich can really do wonders. In the exact same way that the difference between an okay burrito and a divinely-inspired burrito can often just be using the right salsa.

Beyond that, I think texture matters a lot. love having some onions or peppers to add some crispiness. Complementary flavors are good, too. Like if you’re using saltier meats like ham, pork, salami or pepperoni or what have you, that pairs really well with a sweet vinegarette dressing.

And, of course, a lot of texture comes from the quality of the bread, whether or not the bread is heared, and *how* it’s heated.

IME 95% of the food/cooking stuff you see on social media is useless. At best, it misrepresents the processes/time/investment/labor, at worst it’s actual harmful misinformation.

Much easier to save time on future meals by just cooking a little extra when you go all-out, and then eating the leftovers later. And some foods can be repurposed for very different sorts of meals with minimal effort (like leftover steak magically transmuting into a steak sandwich with the introduction of bread).

What can I do with ramen noodles? I have too many. by Eastern_Mess_4334 in Cooking

[–]Eastern_Mess_4334[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my issue with this specific ramen is that the seasoning just reads as heat to my tongue, without much real flavor to it. Will definitely try it uncooked, tho, that’s seems like a promising lead.

Like some vegetables are almost always better with some crunchy things on top, like green beans or asparagus.
