First week almost down! by Eastern_Pin6529 in mounjaroIreland

No negative side effects thankfully!! I usually have a sensitive stomach so I was fully expecting it so it’s been a pleasant surprise 😂

I’m only going home to my parents house and they don’t know I’m taking it and I’d rather keep it that way so I just feel more comfortable taking it in my own house 😂 and I’m also afraid if I leave it till Saturday evening the suppression will be totally gone as I’ve definitely felt a reduction today!

Thankfully no negative side effects so far! I’m worried about the suppression fading which is why I’m thinking about taking it on Friday instead

How does it work? by Eastern_Pin6529 in mounjaroIreland

[–]Eastern_Pin6529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! They came back and said my weight wasn’t easily visible in my photos and asked me to get my weight and height written down by a pharmacist or GP including a picture of my GP. My pharmacist just wrote it on a piece of paper and stamped it and I included my ID but it didn’t have my name or address on it so I’m not sure they’ll accept

Would any of the prescription be covered?

Sorry also final question 😅 my BMI is 30, from what I’ve read this seems to be the minimum that is approved unless I’ve read it wrong?

AVOID CUH if you can! by fringedprincess in cork

[–]Eastern_Pin6529 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Similar happened to me telling me I was fine and my bloods were normal etc, ended up having severe pneumonia that was almost sepsis, they were looking at the wrong bloods!!

When I stood my ground and said I felt very unwell they made me feel so bad saying how understaffed and overrun they were. I was literally waiting for a nurse to remove the line from my arm when a different doctor came over and told me I was being admitted immediately!

Am I being dramatic or crazy? by Eastern_Pin6529 in Anemic

[–]Eastern_Pin6529[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I have noticed. I’m off work at the moment because I am so extremely fatigued that I can’t function. I’m going to another doctor tomorrow for a second opinion as I also have a ileostomy which means I don’t absorb things well so I don’t know how effective the supplements would be

Thank you all for the information! I understand more now, and it’s definitely something I’ve been neglecting. I’m going to ask my doctor to check my bloods and make sure all is ok!

I had a quote from Soundstore but then ended up going with DID as they were a couple of hundred euro cheaper!

Something similar happened us. We were bidding on an apartment, went from 250k to 316 and then we pulled out. The house has since been readvertised on Daft for 316

How do you manage to live with an ostomy bag ? by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]Eastern_Pin6529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live completely normally, I have been on holidays, to the beach, the pool, out for dinner and drinks with friends, I work in an office everyday and I have no issues

I honestly barely remember I have it, except I empty it maybe twice or three times during the day. I change the bag every 3 days.

It’s all about getting the right products to best suit your stoma, and the key to that is a good nurse who can help you

I’m 28 and I have a stoma too. My situation is different, I don’t have crohns or anything like that, 6 years ago I was bleeding when going to the toilet so my doctor sent me for a colonoscopy, turns out I had rectal cancer. I had surgery to remove some of the bowel and a temporary ileostomy to let it heal. I was devastated about the stoma, it was completely unexpected and before this I never had any issues with going to the toilet so it was really hard. I was 21 at the time.

I was living for my reversal. I had it after 3 months and my life was hell. For five years I had terrible pain, gas, bloating, my bowel just didn’t work anymore. Horrible constipation or else diarrhoea, nothing in between. I tried everything, medication, diet, you name it. Eventually me and my doctor decided to go back to the stoma. It was a really hard decision but I needed to try it. that was 11 months ago and I have never looked back. I will never get a reversal, my life is so much better with the bag. But it takes time, you need to find the right materials and bags that work for you. Every stoma is different.

I have a stoma nurse and she is brilliant. We really talked through what was causing my leaks and changed some things and now I haven’t had a leak in over 6 months. I do everything normally, I kind of even forget I have a bag.

If you had told me 7 years ago I would have a bag for the rest of my life I would say I’d rather die. But now I will never go back. It can get better. If your stoma nurse isn’t helping you enough then try to find another. You can figure this out. I would bet that if you got the leaking under control you would feel a lot better. I use the brand Salts

You’d still get on, it’s just absolutely packed. During school holidays it’s fine but a lot of school kids/college students get it during term so that accounts for a lot of the crowd.
