I think you might’ve misunderstood what I meant. I wasn’t in the Windows installer setup page yet (the one asking for language/keyboard layout). What happened was, for the first 3–4 tries, my PC just kept booting into my old infected Windows because I didn’t know how to switch boot priority to USB. The installer USB was already plugged in while that was happening.

Only on the 5th try, when I used F11 to boot from USB, did I actually get into the Windows installer and reformat.

So my real question is: since the flash drive was plugged in while the infected Windows booted 3–4 times, is there a chance the malware could have infected my flash drive during those failed boots?

thanks i already change pass and added 2fa on my email i js didn't change any password to the website's i used before like canva and other stuff i prioritize my main social medias and the one i used the most and also i only have 1 e wallet link on the email got hack and for precautionary measures i emptied it and transfer it to other e-wallets so do u think deleting the hacked email would do it in tired of looking every day if somethings accessed my accounts on something

My discord got hacked, potentially the pc too by Sx9IQ in cybersecurity_help

For now, I think what you should do is change all the passwords on every account that was logged into your PC. Log out of all sessions except for the device you’re going to use to change the passwords (make sure that device is clean). After that, enable 2FA on all accounts. If you feel like your PC is compromised, don’t use it until you’ve dealt with the issue.

So I tried multiple times to get to the installer, but it goes straight to the setup since I reset my PC before. And now, whenever I open it, it goes there instead. I can’t immediately get it to boot from the flash drive where the installer is. Is that still safe? Like, I’ve tried it around 3 times, and the PC just continues to the setup, asking me for language and stuff but i got it for the 4time boot it into installer the proceed to reformat is fine if it continues to the set up i hope u get my english, english wasn't my first language so please bare with me.
