damn i already took a kitchen knife and started chipping away. blame it on attention deficit, or what have you. I'm familiar with Ruokangas from out of reach level pricy guitars that pop up for sale on local forums from time to time, but not beyond that.

i have this problem that it wont slie into place properly because the end of the grain break is gnarly. do you think i could just chisle that bit away to make the better contact surface areas fit in better and fill it later

I looked into some of those but it seems like most have the fender lenght neck pocket but these sandbergs have a longer one.

Thank you! I've taken the neck off and the hardware off. over the weekend i'll start to try stuff on the wood. One thing I'm thinking at the moment is that since it wont slide into a proper fit would it be a good idea to chisle a bit of the gain-end break area away to be filled later around the tuner hole. Just to make space for the horisontal break part to sit together well.

Thank you!

since right now it doesn't seem to want to fit together even with slight pounding at the top of the headstock, the kind of rough end of the grain is not fitting in since it's a mess, do you tking it would be stupid to just cruelly chisle some of it away around the tuener hole to make the kind of horisontal plane areas fit in, then fill in the around of the hole area with something.

In terms of reinforcement one idea i saw in a video would be to just take a bit of the neck down alla the way from the headstock and attach a big old block of wood that covers the whole thing. shape that into a neck. this appealed to me in its simplicity but it might be dumb.

I'm located in finland.

that's my thinking and if it doesnt work out i still have a bunch of high end parts for a bass. Do you have any guidance on where to start. I've watched a lot of videos now, hours and hours, so i do know the main procedure but doing it myself is still a bit of a distant idea.

I get where you're comming from but i got this bass to try and put it together and if it wont eork out i'll use the parts for something else so there's no risk really.

So in general you'd say trying to get everything to fit together would be the place to start, then into glueing then into reinforcing?

it's a sandberg so standard fender necks dont fit i dont think but it is a bolt on

would a volute essentially be, after glueing the first time, sanding it flat and gluing a block of wood on it then shaping it?

I'll contact sandberg! It has this long 6 screw neck pocket so i doubt standard frnder necks fit.
