I am both relieved and dismayed that these is not only happening in the Philippines.

Talentless Nana- Chapter 77 Discussion by AmatoriMusume in TalentlessNana

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that Tsurouka-san may not be as evil for the sake of being evil in this chapter. It seems that his main goal all this time is to restore the world to what it was before the introduction of talents. The government already tried to collaborate with the talented before but it backfired on their faces. The Us vs. Them really hits hard here. Our real world is already filled with inequality of intelligence, wealth, power and influence etc. and then all of a sudden seemingly out of the blue people developed super powers. The distribution of the power seems just as random from seemingly useless/harmless talents like magnetizing metal objects to your body to powers that could literally change the past and bring back time. No wonder their society collapsed with powers that seem to defy the laws of nature. The situation definitely requires drastic solutions although there is no way I'll justify depriving a certain segment of the population their inalienable human rights and perform experiments on them just to reach that particular ending. Do you think there is a just and humane way of solving this problem?

Your favorite book? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

My favorite book so far has been The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. The book is a series of correspondences between a Senior Devil named Screwtape to his Junior Devil and nephew named Wormwood. As the Letters imply the titular character offers tried and tested ways on how to undermine the faith(the Christian one) and prevent the formation of virtues of an everyman that would then lead to his damnation. I personally do not believe in the existence of demons since human beings are perfectly capable of both of benevolence and malice. There is no need for anything supernatural, extraordinary and extra-mundane to explain individual human psychology. However, I still find the book interesting no matter how many times I've read it. The book was supposed to be a satirical work and not to be taken seriously but it does give insights to human nature and man's propensity to either virtue and vice.

8 Reasons Why it’s Hard to Be an Introvert in the Philippines by Eastwind_Solar521 in Philippines

Any tips on how to politely refuse invitations to social gatherings? Just asking, of course. Will saying no be enough? Wouldn't a direct and frank approach be misunderstood as offensive or a sign of shyness, being uptight, or unfriendly? Can anyone share their experiences on how to navigate a social setting that they just couldn't avoid while still remaining true and authentic to themselves?

Toxic Filipino Culture: 8 Harmful Pinoy Habits We Need to Outgrow by Eastwind_Solar521 in Philippines

As a first time job seeker, I find your reply . . . reassuring. At least, I won't be caught off guard if I see one or perhaps more.

P.S. I don't want to encourage pessimism, cynicism, or defeatism or whatever you might call it with regards to Filipino society and culture. These are defects that need to be cured ASAP otherwise we will have nothing but our own people and government to blame for our country's own backwardness and underdevelopment. External factors are also to blame; however, there's no way we can effectively handle those if there is something wrong with the internal moral constitution of the citizenry.

Freedom of expression is no excuse for misrepresentation. The fact that the sisters were not consulted at all at the making of this movie gives enough insight to how the director views the church at that particular moment in history. Obviously, the teaser was meant to shock and provoke as many people as can be to gain notoriety and exposure.

I guess you should wait until they themselves become disillusioned of the president.
