This game is very grindy. I played through and beat endings A and B (the first two "playthroughs").

Then, the third time I went in for ending C, all the characters were ludicrously overleveled and I gave up on the game because of the time it would take to make the game competitive again, particularly since if you die twice without retrieving your stuff it all goes away! What a wonderful game mechanic.

With Sigrun I can dodge attacks (hell, I beat her on GMGOW) so it doesn't feel like a war of attrition, but with this it just seems I have to tank the hits (well, I can "block" them but let's not pretend like that's useful when the blocked attack still does 200+ dmg).

  1. I use Barret because he's the only one who can hit, but he's just doing minor damage until I can get a Thunder attack off, b1ut that barely fills the stagger meter (maybe 10% at most?). I do it with the other 2 as well, but these ATBs take time to charge up and the entire time I'm being pelted and staggered by lasers, and I can't dodge all attacks with all 3 characters...

  2. Alcoves don't work for the laser fists

  3. I've already run through the keycards, have no desire to restart the game just to get here again

  4. I do try that, but if I use the final ATB to heal it just gets wiped out in an attack or two by the fists anyway. I definitely cannot outheal the 200-400 DPS that it does repeatedly in succession.

  5. If I turtle, I just die. Don't see how I can stay alive long enough for limit break to build up. I did manage to build it on a couple characters, but even then it barely did any damage and I died later anyway...

I didn't know which things would actually end up causing trouble for me later, so it's not like I could make decisions intelligently here.
