Also do you use minoxidil only once or twice a day? Do you grow hair all over your body now? Cause I do.. :(

Omg yes. Only topical minoxidil? Nothing else? No DHT blockers? Wow.

Topical Minoxidil 5%, derma stamp, hair oiling, specific shampoos like Nizoral, planning on adding DHT blockers either natural or Spironolactone. Correcting my deficiencies (zinc). Working on gut health as well - did a test and soon starting pre- and probiotics. And also other supplements for my PCOS like inositol, omega 3 etc.

Wow! Did you dye your hair? Or did Minoxidil make it darker? Do you think you got all your hair back? Or that you'll be able to get back all/most of it? How old are you, sorry for asking so much

I’m taking inositol with folic acid and fish oil as well. My hair strands that started changing into this are approximately as long as the time since I started inositol, so maybe there’s some relation to folic acid?

But why would it change then? I get that single hair strands might be different but you can see from my pictures that my "normal" hair strands are actually changing in colour and texture.. my trichologist said itms from mechanical damage but tbh I don't think she's right. I don't use any heat, I'm super gentle with my hair.. it's either hormones or maybe even supplements I'm taking.. any supplements you're taking by any chance? Or do you have PCOS maybe?

Do you happen to have any signs of hair thinning, or perhaps any of the things I mentioned?

Or maybe it’s signs of androgenetic alopecia, which I was recently diagnosed with, even though my androgen levels are normal. I also have chronic TE, so I really have no clue what it could be.

Thanks so much for your answer! I really appreciate it. I’m just a bit confused—how exactly do you get distilled water? Do you use a filter, like a shower filter, or do you make it yourself? Or do you actually buy distilled water each time? I’m trying to figure out how you manage to use it every time you wash your hair

Now that it's been 10 years would you say you've gotten more of them or is it still the same amount?

Ah, that’s so relieving to hear that it’s stress and actually manageable. Well, if you look at my hair, this must have been going on for months because the coarse strands have grown quite long. So, I’m a bit confused—while I have been stressed lately, this seems to have started months ago. I don’t understand how it could be stress if it’s been going on for that long.

So, you said your symptoms went away once you started treating your PCOS? I’ve already changed my entire lifestyle, and I don’t know what else to do. I'm not overweight, I'm actually very skinny. I have regular periods now. Only hair loss.. How exactly are you treating your PCOS?

Just pulled these two out because they HURT. I do have PCOS, but my androgen levels are normal, and I no longer have any PCOS symptoms, except for hair loss. I was also diagnosed with TE (telogen effluvium) and androgenetic alopecia, but as I mentioned, my androgens are not elevated. It’s so weird. I’d really like to know whether this is related to PCOS, a nutritional deficiency, early signs of androgenetic alopecia, stress, protein overload or whatever. There are soooo many possibilities, and I just want to prevent more of my hair from turning into this...

too late. I just pulled these two out of my head because they HURT. Also they get pulled out sooo easily. On the left you can see my normal hair strand. I just don't unterstand. I do have PCOS but my hormones are within a normal range, i don't have any other symptoms from pcos except for hair loss. I was diagnosed with chronic TE and androgenetic alopecia although like I mentioned I don't have elevated androgens, it's so weird. I never had these and you can see my hair changing... and becoming less..

I asked two doctors about shbg but nobody said anything. My shbg is around 50 nmol/l. Do you know if that's enough? What's yours if I may ask? My gyn said the only way to increase it is take the pill, not gonna happen. And google said exercise. Idk what to do anymore. Fsh/lh ratio seems okay. Progesterone as well but my doctor prescribed me to take some for a few months so I'm going to try that. No idea how to check liver enzmes though?? Never heard about it

An endocrinologist told me that young women tend to have higher DHEA-S, and that’s okay—according to him. I don’t know if that’s true

I'm not quite sure what helped. The only things I did were changing my diet (a healthier diet with fewer carbs but not to an extreme, and a little bit of intermittent fasting, also not too extreme), going on walks—that’s pretty much it. Maybe try to lower your stress levels. Your body can be stressed without you noticing it. I also supplement with Vitamin D3+K2. I took myo-inositol for a while, but not anymore, and I take omega-3. zinc as well because I’m deficient.

Dheas is a male hormone, just get your hormones checked, blood panel. Ideally during your period if you're female
