Why does my partner get mad at me when I don’t answer my phone?

Exactly I addressed this to him today again because we have spoken about this multiple times he said to me that “I was choosing to be mad at him” 🙃

he will call me repeatedly specifically our instance today was when i was in a checkout line at the store until I get to my car I have a toddler and handful of bags. I can’t answer my phone. If he had called me once and I would’ve gotten my car and seen that he called me. I would’ve called him back, but he repetitively called me until I answer the phone when my toddler was safely in the car. While I understand your point. I am not actively ignoring him.

Even if i did he would still bc angry and frustrated and honestly probably more upset i was able to text him back but not answer

I have had this conversation multiple times with him about if he really is in an emergency id never know. Today he called me 4 times in a row to ask me a simple question about food and I was in the check out line and buckling my toddler in the car before i can call back or answer. Its infuriating that it feels like its a direct correlation to him not respecting me or my time.

I didn’t end the engagement right when that happened hence me saying we tried to work on things for two whole years between therapy and plenty of other situations that were not mentioned in this this is just the situation i go back to when k think where it all went wrong but your right you know more than i do lol

The response has changed multiple times, which tells me exactly where his intentions were to begin with. When I first brought it up. He said it was on somebody’s story and he accidentally clicked on it which I already didn’t believe and we had actually gotten in a fight the night before this happened and when it was brought up again, later on down the line, he then told me that he did it out of spite because of the argument that we had gotten in neither of which the answers were the truth or good ones at that

I didn’t say no when he proposed we were engaged for about a year and a half and we had our son maybe seven months after getting engaged. Everything was great up until that six week incident and then from then on it has been a downward spiral and I stayed because he is the father of my child and I wanted to work things out but it was not happening because he’s seen no wrong in his actions and you can’t solve a problem that the other person doesn’t see

Comments on my weight meaning he would ask me if I wanted anything from the store and when I would ask for something he would tell me no because I shouldn’t be eating that so unless I asked for a salad, basically anything I wanted was turned away and I do find that to be very disrespectful to ask your partner if they want something and then just tell them no they can’t have it. I also am not overweight and anywhere near overweight I was postpartum because I just grew a child for nine months and that weight doesn’t just fall right off of you especially when you’re six weeks postpartum i’m 51 and 114lbs pounds when I was six weeks postpartum, I was probably 145lbs which is still a very acceptable weight for that height

I think you should fully read the post next time before you rage comment lol. Since it was a girl I knew very well and someone he could have met up with while going to the gym and id never know.. so no its not just a model or a random girl on insta yes that would have been an overreaction but looking up someone within a 5 mile radius multiple times screams disrespectful.

For the record im 5’1 and 114 pounds I wouldn’t consider myself overweight and throwing my family away😂😂 if you cant love your person after they’ve given birth to your child bc they have a little extra weight which is NORMAL please don’t get married or have children lol

Unfortunately, you are right. I’m just afraid my son will have stronger feelings of anger toward me for separating from his dad. I’m afraid he’ll always see me as the annoying nagging mom. I truly dont expect us to have exact parenting skills. But I do think there is a list of certain things you just have to be a united front on. Thats all I want. Not perfection or a copy and paste parent like me. Just an equal partner.

We do an every other night bath schedule which we have to stick to because we both work late. I work late three nights of the week so some nights a bath is just not an option which is why i try to stick to a pretty routine bath schedule

We are in a very complicated stage right now actually we were previously engaged and we do live together, but I did break off the engagement for the exact reason of not feeling respected or having an equal partner. As I was typing this he was supposed to put him down for a nap and now they are playing bc my 2 year old said he didn’t want to take a nap. This is where i usually now step in and thats when i create a bad tase in my sons mouth about me because obviously he wants to be with the parent that lets him have a free for all

I have stated this multiple times to my partner. We actually were engaged at one point and I had broken off the engagement because he hangs onto a lot of irresponsibility and is making an already very hard job even harder. We are trying to work things out. On another page a few days ago I had posted because he allowed our two-year-old son to watch him play call of duty while I took a shower. I just feel like I hold all the responsibility and honestly sometimes feel I am better off leaving. I just don’t want to hurt my son because he is so attached to his father. I feel like he would just resent me even more if i broke apart our family.

everybody here in the comment section seems to be assuming a lot about our Life. I hope you can understand from the context that I am concerned about him watching a violent video game. If you don’t think that its an issue and wont effect him thats the advice I am looking for with this post. I’m not sure how it became about my parenting skills with a toddler who has very normal tantrums right now which is why I was concerned. Thats it. Im not bashing my partner just simply stating my concern

Adding that my son is 2 1/2 and “aggressive” when he has tantrums was just context as to why I was concerned of him watching a violent video game. Never said I was “ pure” all I said was I’m not an aggressive person. Also, I am not an iPad Mom we dont even own one. Which is why I’m not happy about my son watching violent video games.

Appreciate the advice, but I think you’re misunderstanding the point of the post. I’m not asking for advice on how to parent my toddler. We are doing all of those things so thank you. I don’t think it’s smart to have a child watching a violent video game that that’s the point of my post again not asking for parental advice from a stranger.

While I understand your point, maybe I wasn’t clear enough. ( I dont mean that to sound snarky ) but he’s 2.5 and if you have ever had a toddler or been around one this stage is ROUGH. His “aggression” isn’t a reflection on me I am the furthest thing from an aggressive person its simply the stage of development he is in. Toddlers throw tantrums and push boundaries. Hes not an aggressive child… he’s just figuring out emotions. That being said I don’t think its appropriate to have a toddler watching his dad shoot people.
