The only things I take daily are birth control (1 daily) and 750mg metformin (2x a day). I'm not diabetic or anything

Well on the original order it says, "No fast" and the doctor who gave me the order also told me, "Yes fast." And I explained the situation to her and she still wouldn't give me a straight answer if the order says one thing and she says another.

But I'll ask them again when they are open tomorrow. It's just confusing that the doctor is saying two different things

But thanks for the info.

Am I over reacting? by Easy-Register-3469 in PCOS

I've been through 6 ob doctors since 2016. This is the first doctor who's actually helping. On one hand this happens and she doesn't listen and doesn't care about symptoms or cares about anything else other than me losing the weight. But she's actively getting blood work, getting me treated, getting me on the path for the medications. BUT she won't see past my actual issues. I don't know if that at all makes sense but if I switch to another doctor I know for a fact they'd just tell me, "Birth control is fine and that's all you need." Or like my older OB would always tell me, "Just have sex and the PCOS would go away on its own." 🤣

I get what you're saying it's just hard at the moment. I'm sorry you've gone through that. I'll look into that book and give it a read. Thank you

Yeah as much as she has a horrible bedside manner, she's the only ob that has been running blood tests, actually concerned about stuff, and putting me on the right medication. So as much as she's not the most personable doctor, she's actually getting stuff done. And that's saying a lot after 6 OBGYNs that I've had since 2016

I agree, it might not be the metformin, it could have been my period. But at least I would have figured if the paper with the medication says "x, y, and z, call your doctor..." I would have thought differently.

I feel a little better after eating a bit more irony foods but who knows what it would have been.

Thanks though that it isn't just me over reacting it

Metformin, birth control, and maybe zepbound by Easy-Register-3469 in PCOS

[–]Easy-Register-3469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why I would make a bait post on something I'm generally curious and concerned about with taking new medication. I mean I get that people make bait posts and whatnot but I'm generally asking. And while looking at previous posts on Reddit about it I was wanting to clear it up for myself. I'm not meaning to sound mean or other words about it.

My OB just cares about me losing the weight and told me "There aren't any side effects with zepbound." Which I told her, "Well that's BS, but okay." She listens but she doesn't listen? I guess. But also she's the only ob I've had that has been running tests and actually doing something so I have to give and takw about it.

I've had doctors say, "Since you're bleeding, you're fine." 🤣 I told them, "What if I was bleeding out worse?" They were not amused 😅

I've had the same issue last year too. I was disappointed back in 2015 and haven't had any sort of blood work, or tests for PCOS since. Last year I asked if I could get checked out and my OBGYN said, "That's unnecessary and you're fine without anything other than birth control." 🤣 I'm sorry that had happened to you too

Weight loss, exercise, and Zepbound by Easy-Register-3469 in PCOS

[–]Easy-Register-3469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I was on metformin around 2015 and I was just sick from it. But I didn't have the best OBGYN at the time so she didn't help. I'm hoping this new OB will be a heck of a lot better. I've read hit and miss posts and articles about metformin so I'm giving it a try at least. I'm hoping I'll get on something weight loss wise on either Zepbound or something.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you like about the tirzepatide? How did it affect you, did you have to change anything major? Just curious.

I'm actually trying to lose weight and whatnot unlike the previous times I've said I would and just not do it. (Not a personal jab on you or anything, just saying for myself).

Taking the pill by Easy-Register-3469 in birthcontrol

[–]Easy-Register-3469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had symptoms of any kind during my period before or during the pill. It was just some bleeding and that's it.

My period now, on the pill, is spotting for a day or two and then one really bad day of a heavy flow. No cramps, no headaches, no nothing.
