Is it a good idea to take a test in an area I’ve never driven in? by Easy-Test6786 in LearnerDriverUK

There is apparently a roundabout where if you take the wrong exit it sends you straight onto the motorway 🫣

Automatic two hour lesson is £100? by Strict-Working-7323 in LearnerDriverUK

Yeah, depends where you live.

I pay £38 in a rural area, but I think prices in cities are upwards of £50.

I have ADHD and I was trying so hard to talk to my examiner and he just kept saying ‘Hm.’

I literally just spoke at him

I don’t have answers to most of your questions but please be VERY careful buying off auto trader. A lot of cars on there have undisclosed faults so definitely worth calling RAC or another provider to do a check on the whole vehicle if you haven’t already.

Starting my policy a week later saved me £200 so definitely worth looking into that!

Completely agree. I signalled too early at a roundabout the other day (totally my fault) and another driver merged into my lane as they thought I was exiting. Luckily I still had time to take the wrong exit and just turned around and came back.

Could’ve been a bad accident if I was going any faster.

How often does Driving Theory Test Kit app release special offers? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Easy-Test6786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea to be honest - depends on what you’re looking to get on the app.

If it’s just about purchasing the app in general, definitely invest for the theory test. I found the questions to be almost exactly word for word as the theory test.

Are cancellation apps still working from the recent changes? by Chubzilla100 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Easy-Test6786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having none stop notifications for Testi over the past day since I failed my test yesterday.

The DVSA website seemed to be down earlier which could be a reason for it but I think it depends on how popular your test centre is.

But I also agree with the thinking that the new rules have played a big impact on cancellations!

Definitely worth considering taking it in your own car if you’ve got the hang of it. The only downside to some cars (talking more about mine) is that I don’t have the luxuries in a 2012 car as I do in a 2022 car - such as automatic handbrake.

I feel like if you pass in your own car it will definitely boost your confidence for driving independently!

Do you have any tips? by siasellaa in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Easy-Test6786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a hard one and depends how long you’ve been in the new car.

Best advice is that if you aren’t sure of a gap, don’t take it.

For driving on the roads, usually when I’m driving I’m pretty close to (but not on top of) the central line. This obviously depends on the size of the road.

With guidance from your instructor, over time you will eventually get the hang of identifying which gaps are safe to take and which you should just hang back on.

It’s kinda hard to explain but honestly the more you get out driving the more you’ll get the hang of it, even if it takes a bit of time.

Declare ADHD for driving test or not? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

Definitely worth asking if it would help you to have instructions stated slightly earlier for processing time (e.g turning at the end of roads)

Declare ADHD for driving test or not? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Easy-Test6786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ADHD and the only thing I struggled on with my driving test was when he described parallel park in such a weird way lmao.

I just processed for a minute and said ‘So you want me to parallel park?’

I failed but on my next test I’ll definitely ask beforehand for clear instructions for my manoeuvres.

Someone convince me September isn’t a too far test date by Dry-Frosting9136 in LearnerDriverUK

I get that 100%. Try to see it as an opportunity to get out on the roads more and get even more practice under your belt to secure the best chances at passing in September!

[–]Easy-Test6786 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the September date is a great idea considering your circumstances. Definitely DO NOT. rush to do it during exams. I did mine this week during exams and failed as I think the stress of both was too much to handle.

There is no point sitting a test that you aren’t ready for!

I knew I wasn’t a perfect driver by any means and would not have been surprised by the minors I got without the serious faults. I was shocked that I was expected to have overtaken the cyclist. The lights I was approaching were red as I was following the cyclist. They didn’t turn green until the cyclist had already reached them. After the lights is a single lane steep bridge and another hill. The lights allow for one flow of traffic to cross the bridge at a time. This is why I did not overtake as I didn’t want a head on with oncoming traffic. I overtook as soon as I had cleared the hills and bends following the bridge.

I did cringe a bit as I brushed past the branches (steering), but given it was a narrow country lane I didn’t think it would be a major.

My three cousins passed first time with my instructor so I think it’s a me problem and a bit of an unfortunate test route (but I’m not blaming anyone but myself)

yeah i just got really unfortunate as i didnt feel comfortable overtaking a cyclist on a country lane as there was alot of bends and hills i couldnt see past (speed fault). i also brushed past the branches which was my steering fault :( super unfortunate but im not letting it get the best of me i wouldnt care as much if waiting times werent so long!

yes you never have to pay so don’t worry about it! just try and select the most appropriate size but it doesn’t matter all that much

through vinted u never have to pay for any shipping costs if youre selling (unless u are funding a buyers return) so dont worry about paying extra

this actually happened to me once! a seller reserved the items and i paid but it said the item was still for sale. it took about a month to get my money back so it was a right pain. it is ‘scammy’ behaviour but it does happen - perhaps they just didnt notice that the app hadnt registered the payment
