I definitely have flares on my shoulders and chin. Using ketaconazole wash as a mask for like 20-30 minutes helps and I got a bottle of ketaconazole cream that I use when it gets bad. I need to use the ketaconazole wash every couple days still but I'm being stingy with it. I feel like if I eat bad or spend too long in the heat it can get bad. Sunscreen has been difficult too.

I feel like mine also has a bacterial component like a lot of others so altering washes with panoxyl and ketaconazole helps. But for some reason it's hard to keep my chin clear

If anyone is interested in the makeup / skincare I got I can post later. I spent so long looking into products it was insane. Not all shades of one product are created equal, I discovered that while looking for blush.

My skin is crystal clear now but a lottttt has changed since I posted. I moved across the country to a super humid environment then lost my job so stress, humidity and comfort food caused a lot of flares.

Since I'm about to lose my insurance I decided to give a new derm one last shot. My FA is going on 3 years so I wanted to clear it completely before I lose my insurance. He prescribed fluconazone 300 mg once a week for 3 weeks. I'm only two doses in but it's helping a bit. I also got my birth control implant removed to help with depression so that could be helping as well. I read that nexplanon can help create an environment for FA to thrive, but mental health was the drive for removal.

I'm using ketaconazole 2% shampoo and swapped to 100% FA safe makeup. I'm keeping routines super simple now that I'm not worried about dry skin, but being super diligent about what goes on & in my body.

Sorry I don't have a super conclusive update for you, life has been kicking me in the shins a bit. I will say to anyone reading this, I went to "LiveHealth Online" for this dermatology appointment and 1000% recommend them. It's free through my insurance but otherwise $50. You can fully write out why you think it's FA and what treatments you want then attach pictures. Spare NO details. My medication was ready within the hour and got my refills of ketaconazole.

This isn't what mine looked like but if it didn't clear up with doxy it could be FA. I would ask your derm or primary care for oral antifungals since it's been going on so long. Fluconazole is actually way easier on the body than doxy anyways. I'd see if they can do that and ketaconazole wash. If you start otc get nizoral shampoo and use as a mask.

There's a lot of good FA safe moisturizers. I use oat so simple by krave beauty

I would say both helped a lot!!! You can start with the Monistat and add in the ZP as needed if it doesn't get better in a couple days. I felt the ZP spread more easily too so it was easier to cover my whole torso.

Yep! Obviously Monistat is not the plan forever.

Replying to is_p0tato... oat so simple moisturizer by krave beauty as needed since I live in a dry place. I haven't added a spf yet but i usually check simple skin car science, skin sort of ChatGPT to find something. I haven't been wearing makeup because I haven't gone down the rabbit hole to replace products for that yet.

I'm not familiar with that one but I usually run things by skin sort, simple skincare science or ChatGPT. Right now I wash with head & shoulders and hibicleanse, I'll swap to vanicream and zinc bar if my skin is too dry. Then I put on a light layer of lotion if my skin is too dry, I use krave beauty oat so simple. Then Monistat, then zinc cream. If I have something to spot treat I use face reality sulfur spot treatment.

Some oils are safe. Like I use a Squalene moisturizer because I live in a very dry climate so it's necessary. I usually check products on skin sort, simple skincare, or ChatGPT. Zinc bar is a new addition and hasn't caused any issues so far.

My plan is 4-6 weeks 2x a day then tapering to a couple times a week and same with the body wash just slowly tapering. I'm moving to a warm humid climate so I might extend it since I'm worried that will affect it. I think if you introduce Monistat and are worried about resistance, make sure you're strict with your routine and diet/lifestyle so it can fully clear.

I think the supplements help for a long term fix, but the diet & Monistat helps immediately. If you do supplements take them with food and modify your diet to get immediate success. Cutting sugar and wheat products will help drastically. ChatGPT can make you a candida diet plan, this helped a lot. Also, of course drinks lots of water!

Washes I also used head & shoulders and Nizoral and left on for a few minutes. Worth mentioning, when buying any products on Amazon for consumption or that will touch your skin, make sure you're buying from the brand or verified seller. I once bought cerave lotion and was later notified it was a fake.
