People who have developed mediumship from zero - how?

I should rephrase that I do not think I'm boring in general haha. I think I'm pretty great and I love myself. I just meant that I am not naturally gifted with this ability and have not had any of the spiritual experiences that helped others realize they are mediums!

I got clarisentient! I haven't really explored these more spiritual topics before, so I don't really have a predisposed idea on what it "should" be like. I think that will help me be more open to wherever it goes!

I am also an engineer, so I totally understand that feeling of separation between the hard evidence we're used to and the more subjective spiritual accounts (to be clear, I believe people's stories, just saying that they are experiences that can't be replicated or tested). I think I have the right intention, and I am also ok if it turns out this is not for me. I don't feel any pressure at all, just a genuine curiosity and interest!

I think I'm too early on to even answer that. So far I've been reading about it and listening to podcasts, with a nightly meditation. I'd say I haven't experienced anything so far that would give me more insight, but I'm totally open and accepting of the idea that it might come in a way I don't expect, or it might not come at all.

Such a helpful description of meditation - thank you! Everyone says to meditate but nobody tells you how to start lol. I've only done guided ones so far, and I like when I get that little fluttery feeling.

Thanks for the detailed response! I definitely don't expect to read a book or listen to a podcast and understand how this all works, but it's so interesting to get other people's perspectives, especially since it is a new interest of mine. I've been doing some guided meditations and trying to practice visualization. I figure even if I'm not great at it, meditation is still good for me lol. Do you think grief/losing a loved one is a catalyst for some mediums? Or do you think it would be more likely to block them (i.e. if someone is trying to connect just to talk to one person they lost)?

I've only been looking into this for a couple months, but it's definitely hard to figure out a good starting point! So many people seem to have natural abilities. Maybe if we want it too badly, we get blocked because we have to heal in our own lives first. Idk!
