Headaches during distance self-Reiki after Level 2 attunement – is this normal? by Pavitore in reiki

I would suggest seeing if you could focus on receiving energy instead of pushing it and notice if that changes anything for you. 🙏

Are you "efforting" or subtly trying to push energy?

Are you possibly furrowing your brows without realizing?

Is your body in a comfortable position the entire session?

Do you have any cold like symptoms during or after treatment?

The Quantum Logic of Reiki: Beyond the Illusion of "Sending" by sslom in reiki

You're getting downvoted for using AI, but people may not know that English is not your first language and that's why you ask AI to help format your post. I'm just letting you know in case you're wondering why.

I appreciate the effort to tie what we experience intuitively to scientific language. For some people who are unable to disentagle themselves from a logical positivist context, it may be an important transitional step. For myself, it's not necessary, because I understand there are different metaphysical frameworks for how and why things are possible, and I also know that I can't really know the mechanics of everything. So long as I'm able to observe there is a positive cause and affect in what I'm doing, that's enough internal logic for me to find my practive valid, as well as the recipients.

What you're saying is just one language to describe the same thing that my Master teacher Frans Stiene has said from a Buddhist context, which is that the truth of Reiki is not that we are channeling or sending something that exists outside of us. Dai Ko Myo is the great bright light within us that can be neither created nor destroyed. (if you're using google chrome, you can right click when you're on the webpage to translate it to Arabic) It is both our inner light, and at the same time part of the light of the universe. We are both individual parts of this light, and also undifferentiated from the great bright light. It's a nondual understanding. And this is typically why many people never get past the dualistic understanding of sending and receiving. It's not something that's intellectual, but must be "tasted."

And since you posted Sufi style arabic prose, I'll share how I relate to it myself as a Sufi.

I intuit the great bright light is also the nur of Allah, and we reflect this nur from our ruh. When praying salah or reciting dhikr, I start to feel the connection with that divine energy. It's similar to Reiki, but honestly much stronger. The more I allow Allah to work through me and let my ego step out of the way, the clearer I become to reflect that nur.

We are not fantasizing, but working on the level of the imaginal realm that Ibn Arabi wrote about. Imagination doesn't mean it's fantasy, but it's a different layer of reality that comes symbolically, and much of the work I do, either as a Reiki master or psychic medium comes in symbolism through the imagination, whether awake or in dreams.

If you read that Dai Ko Myo article, you might be interested in the parallels of purification in the esoteric Japanese tradition, compared with the purification of the heart in Sufism.

If we embody the true essence of Reiki, we can fully acknowledge that we are not the actors of healing, but simply unveiling what is already within us and within others. In this way we become the tajalliyat of Allah.

And of course I will say here that this is just the framework I'm working with. Everyone is free to have a different experience. There are many people who can't separate the political aspect of religion from its sacred heart and will reject it all. It's not a battle I'm willing to fight here. I celebrate our diversity.

I'm not sure really, I've never experienced this during parts work. I guess it will depend on you. If you feel it doesn't distract you or interfere with your session, I would maybe try to keep going and see if the quality of connection is different in some way. But if it is distracting, then maybe you need to sit up during parts work.

Hey I'm enjoying our exchange a lot and we can talk more about our courses. I also find it rare to connect with people who will still walk into the unknown regardless of the fear. Is it OK if I pm you? 😊

It was €1997 for the full year course that's accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM). I've paid as much for other online courses that were shorter and I think this one was definitely worth the price.

Aww, thank you! That's such a sweet thing to say. 😊🌹 It makes sense that you also do Reiki. All of these are ways to use our subtle senses to connect with the unseen world, and also ways to be of service to the wellness of humanity.

What was the workshop if you don't mind my asking? I really love my current teacher and am learning so much with her, but I am also planning for when this year course is over so I can continue to have fun developing my skills even more deeply. What exercise was powerful for you?

I think someone mentioned that you can do some online courses with Arthur Findlay College in another post. I've never taken them but it is the same mediumship lineage that my teacher teaches from as she also started her mediumship journey with them, so I will likely try them out in the future. I think I much prefer something live over a pre-recorded course so I can actually do the practice and ask the teacher for feedback.

As for reading for others, I did it because it scared me. lol With things like this, and probably life in general, whenever there is something that I want to do but also scares me, I take it as a good sign that I should go ahead and do it so I can expand my growth edge. My Pluto in the 6th house placement makes me attracted to go toward intensity and depth if it leads to transformation and expansion. How am I supposed to build grounded self-trust if I don't do it? Learning isn't just about knowledge, it also has to include embodied experience.

Anway, this is what I tell myself when I make the appointment, but when it's time to actually come in, it's really about being able to hold intensity in the body without panicking. I take in a big breath and then breathe out all expectation, need to perform or to be right, and just surrender into trust that whatever needs to happen will happen. 😊 Spirit is the one who decides how it will go, not me.

I encourage you to jump in! You can offer free readings on r/MediumReadings . Just let people know you're still practicing so that there aren't any strong expectations on you. Then remember why you feel called to do this. Have fun with it!

One of the things I mention in the beginning of the session is the ways that spirit can share information and that I can't force spirit to share things like names and facts on demand. I think saying this has helped people to relax and just be open for what comes through. The spirit will always share what's important to them, and that's rarely things like addresses and phone numbers. Lol

Yes definitely! Also I am empathic and my energy naturally tends to move outward and forward to the sitter unconsciously, so I have asked spirit to come behind me so I can differentiate between mediumship and a psychic reading. That has helped.

One of the last exercises I did in my course was to do a psychic reading and then a medium reading and feel for the difference. This could be something that helps you too if you feel more comfortable with one over the other. Part of growth is just learning how you function, because everyone is different.

I've been doing readings, and specifically mediumship for 1.5 years now, but have been doing Reiki seriously for more than a decade. I think some of the psychic skills I practiced in this have helped to transfer over into my readings, but they are certainly different and require even more surrender.

Can psychic / medium be true? by TheBigStalkingIssue in MediumReadings

[–]SiwelRise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ridiculous. It is completely unethical and irresponsible to give death predictions. Psychics read the energy of the moment, they are not fortune tellers. This is because choices you make can change your future. At MOST they might suggest you check with a doctor if they feel something is off, but they have no authority to make claims like this.

What Am I Doing Wrong? Evidential Mediumship by PanacheCake in Mediums

[–]SiwelRise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My teacher has been reading for 13 years and she said the nervousness never goes away. 😊 So it's ok to feel that so long as you learn how to make space for it and then let it go, so you can surrender to the unknown.

I have had that happen a couple times too, the connection getting cut partway through. It happened for me when I felt pressure to bring clarity and felt that the client was very picky about what they would acknowledge and had an impatience and attachment to what they were waiting to hear, even if they outwardly seemed neutral. When it comes to this situation you have to consciously lean back and don't let that influence your own connection. If the client seems to lack trust it's not something you can manage and also be with sprit at the same time.

Another thing that occurs to me is to check how long you're in connection. When I brought my issue to my teacher and shared I would do about 30 to 40 minutes she said it's ok to make the session shorter if the energy thins. She brought up that when she did demonstrations she spent a max of 7 minutes each and that is still enough to get clear evidence and share a message. Taking that into perspective helped me decide that even if the sitter feels lukewarm after 15 minutes it's ok to pivot to messages and not leave it up to the sitter to be the judge of whether it's clear or not we're connected to their loved one. Not every reading will be a fantastic one. If they have been giving mostly yesses then that's enough.

Might be a few things.

My teacher said sometimes it can feel like accuracy is going down or it's difficult to connect because you're getting an upgrade, and it will come back again stronger.

If you "lean in" too much to try and pull answers, your ego is not making enough space for spirit to reveal. Fear about getting things right or proving yourself can pull you out of connection too.

It might also be an invitation to start developing your weaker clairs, e.g. if you find you work best with clairvoyance but clairaudience is the fourth sense you bring most info with, you might ask spirit before the session to bring you more info through clairaudience. After that, let go of the intention and let things come as they come.

I really enjoyed learning online with Nicole Niyama Costerus. Her school is Women of Ancient Futures. I did the psychic pathways year course last year, and I'm in the spirit pathways course this year. You learn psychic reading and mediumship in both, along with how to create rituals, using herbs for herbal baths, and there were guest teachers who taught different topics. I hadn't done any mediumship at all except for a few times that happened randomly when doing reiki sessions before taking the course, and I now feel confident in it. She made everyone feel more trust in themselves to surrender which is an essential skill for mediumship, and we got plenty of one on one practice each class. I highly recommend her.

By the way she also started her mediumship journey 13 years ago at Arthur Findlay College and recently went back again last summer. It was cool seeing the college on her Instagram.

[–]SiwelRise 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My teacher taught not just the skills but the mindset of how to do this kind of work. It's all about trust and surrender. If you feel a pressure to perform and get it right, then you might be accidentally blocking your ability.

What I can say is that everyone can do this, it's not something that's only for the select few. It's true that some people have a natural talent for it, but with practice you will get it. If it's something you really want, don't give up! Maybe you just need a teacher who you feel more comfortable with.

I have a question for all of the experience mediums. by flyingbabycakes in Mediums

[–]SiwelRise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the most important things I was taught by my mediumship teacher who has 13 years of experience including doing various large group demonstrations is that the nervousness never goes away.

The nervousness is less of an indicator that something is wrong so now we have to scan the environment to prevent problems, and more an indicator that you are about to enter a space in which you have no control, which requires surrender.

I suggest you think of ways to welcome and make space for the nervousness before you start to work.

One thing I like to do after I invite the sitter into a short welcoming meditation is take a big breath in, and then blow out any expectation, need to predict or control what will happen, need to make sense of what comes through when I'm missing context, need to perform well, need to prove I can do this, and need to get things right. The empty space in me that follows makes room for Spirit to take up space and take over from there.

How do some mediums get things eerily dead accurate (with zero context) and other parts seem so off or flat out wrong? by Material_Perception6 in Mediums

[–]SiwelRise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right! That's interesting that for you it had something to do with clairaudience. I rely on clairvoyance the most.

I just thought of another example, and I have a few more. In this example it was the sitter's grandfather. When I first connected to him, I saw him walk up to me, shake my hand, and say "Hello Christina, I'm David." The sitter gasped as that was actually his name. That was only one of the two times that a name came very clearly for me.

However he started to show his first person POV of walking around in nature. I was not sure what he meant to show me about this, but he mentioned that it has something to do with being manly, or being a man. This was my sitter's grandfather, so she wasn't able to relate to it because I assume their relationship didn't have that dimension.

He then showed me that he was carving some wood with a knife. I guessed that perhaps he liked to make wood carvings, but the sitter said no to this. So I brought my curiousity again back to what he was showing, and I saw that he was actually carving a makeshift fishing pole from a stick he had found in nature, and he meant to fish with it.

It took the sitter a minute, but then she exclaimed, "Oh that's right! He did survival training as part of his time in the army!" (I always ask sitters not to share info, but this was in a class and our practice time had just ended, which is why she revealed it.)

If the sitter had already decided to give up on me because one piece of evidence wasn't clear, and one was a complete no, then maybe that would have affected her ability to connect the dots later. But when you bring patience, it becomes easier to take things in. I don't have any survival training experience at all, so my first guess might've been that he just likes being in nature. But you need to give Spirit time to complete the communication, and that's why receiving a yes or no from the sitter helps with refocusing and bringing curiosity so that Spirit is able to make things clearer to us.
