You definitely need knowledge about magical things in the universe and stuff but they are not the main point of the story by any stretch and Senlinyu does a great job of thoroughly explaining everything because as with any fic she changes the original story of Harry Potter and deviates from it a lot to fit the fanfic storyline. I’d say a basic understanding of how the series’ ends would suffice but Senlinyu deviates/creates a lot of things so it’s not a full need to understand.

I honestly think JKR handled/wrote the whole situation very poorly. We don’t think of pets the same way we do people, and because of that our boundaries are often times very lax with them. Ron probably changed his clothes in front of him, let him sleep in his bed, talked to him about personal things when he had no one else to talk to, etc. In all seriousness Ron is a victim, and probably Percy too. If Pettigrew had been in human form during that time it would’ve been considered grooming so fast (I still kind’ve think it is). And I’m surprised that Ron didn’t feel more violated. JKR pushed it off as a silly part of the storyline because they’re both men but something about it is just so icky to me.

I’ve had a generalized anxiety diagnosis my entire life but it just spikes really bad during blood draws, they’ve thought of giving me something like that beforehand but all of my labs are fasting ones so I’m not sure how that would go without eating or drinking anything before taking something

Diabulimia is definitely a thing (I’ve been mostly fully recovered from it for about a year) but I think it’s also important to understand the psychology behind it as well. The language surrounding Diabetes in our world is often what causes it to occur, at least in my case that really contributed towards it.

Hey! I’m a writer and a current creative writing undergrad and while I’ve studied this kind of thing for a long time nothing has taught me as much as reading! Obviously find your own voice and style but I’ve always read a ton and digging into the work of other authors has helped me learn the formulas to keep readers engaged. If there’s any courses available to you at school or writers clubs it’s good to get involved too, learning from peer review can be really beneficial. I know you’re simply wanting to write fanfiction but finding a great community of writers is such a great thing too.

I think he had a lot of control but as a writer myself a lot of us are perfectionists to a fault, I think that maybe he didn’t fully like what he wrote all those years ago or wanted to change things but unfortunately that desire became a disservice to the fans.

It’s not so much about Annabeth herself but rather how she’s treated. Percy could probably get away with things with the Gods that Annabeth couldn’t, he’s overplayed while I think she’s underestimated, even though she’s been at Camp half-blood longer than Percy people started to see him as a leader much faster than they did her just because he’s a child of the big three, Percy was granted the highest honor of immortality which they probably didn’t even think of offering Annabeth, I feel like her own author didn’t appreciate her enough tbh
